How to use Hands-On Summer Activities for Kindergarten:

The center activities are best used when printed on cardstock and/or laminated. You can choose to implement these centers in an independent way or use them with small-groups. The printables can be used to strengthen students’ fine motor skills and are perfect for exploration during morning work. Alternatively, the printables can be used to supplement your kindergarten literacy and math centers.

Materials:

+ Copy the pages onto card stock & cut apart. Evenly distribute the “BAM!” cards throughout the deck.

Players: 4-6

Directions:

• Players will take turns drawing a card from the pile and read the sight word. If the student is correct they can keep the card, and the next student takes a turn.
• The object of the game is to have the most cards at the end of the game.
• However, when a player gets the “BAM!” card, then they have to put all of their cards back in the pile. They keep the “BAM!” card.
• If a student draws a “POW!” card that student loses a turn, but keeps the “POW!” card.
• If a student draws a “WOW!” card that student gets to take another turn.

**Anybody can win the game, it is not just the best reader, because of the element of chance in the game. The game ends when all cards are gone.
