Students will have fun putting together this Five Senses Flip Flap Book. Recording sheets and writing prompts will follow up this flip flap book activity so students can show off their knowledge of what they have learned about the five senses.

Students will have the opportunity to make five webs to show off what they like to see, hear, touch, taste and smell.

They will also have the opportunity to answer by drawing and labeling pictures that show the following:

Directions for use:

To assemble the flip books, cut out each rectangle, then along the lines of the bottom rectangle. Make sure that the top rectangle is left intact as it will form the base for the flip book! Arrange the “flips” (pages) one on top of the other and staple them to the base.

This animal charades game for kids is such a FUN way to get your students moving and using their imagination! The charade cards have both pictures and words so children that are not quite reading yet reading can still participate. Cut out the rectangles with the animal pictures and words to be guessed and place them upside down in a pile or in a container. Take turns drawing a card and acting it out (without talking) in front of your audience until someone guesses it correctly. If students can’t guess correctly, you could have your students imitate the animal noise until students guess correctly. You can make up your own rules to best fit the needs of your students.

Students can also have fun sorting the animals into categories. A zoo animal and farm animal work mat is placed in this pack for sorting. You may choose to use the recording sheet to follow up on this sorting activity.

You will receive the following:

• differentiated recording sheets with primary and secondary lines
• directions for a charades game
• suggested ideas for using the animal cards

A couple of more great ideas for using these animal cards is to make a memory game by copying two sets of animal cards. Simply mix up the cards and place them upside down. Have students flip two cards and see if they match. As students take turns flipping two cards they will try to remember where their animal matches are placed. The person with the most matches at the end of the game wins.

You could also use two or more sets of animal cards for grouping students together for certain projects or activities. Pass out all the animal cards and have students find their animal match and they can work on the assigned activity together.

Are you looking for a fun science experiment to do this summer? Students will discover what melts in the sun in this simple experiment in which items are placed on a muffin tin or cookie sheet and placed in the sun. Students will record their predictions and results on recording sheets and discuss their findings. Students will design and build a model of a structure that will reduce the warming effect of sunlight on an area. A recording sheet for students to draw their structure and tell about it is included.

A "Facts About the Sun" handout is included which is loaded with information about the sun. You will receive an easy art activity to show the rotation of the earth around the sun. You will also receive a KWL chart with lines and no lines to fill out and another worksheet for students to fill out as they learn fun facts about the sun.

Students will learn about the needs of all living things when you show them and discuss our mini-poster. Then they will complete a living and nonliving sort. There are 12 beautiful photographs of animals, 12 of different types of plants, and 12 of non-living things. Each photograph has the name of the object printed underneath it. These can be laminated and cut out so that students can sort them under the labels living and non-living (also included). This can be done with the whole group, in small groups or at centers. If this is done at centers putting 6 pictures from each category out allows for the center to be done twice.

There are 2 follow-up worksheets at slightly different levels, so you can choose what is best for your individual students' needs.
