Book 1: Let's Go on a Picnic

Students will listen to a repetitive text & select the right food from a choice of 8 items. Each page states, "We/I like to eat," identifies a food, and provides picture support. Follow up with discussions by having students determine if they also like each item mentioned. Foods included: drink, hamburger, hotdog, tomato, watermelon, smores, corn on the cob, and ice cream.

Book 2: Summertime Colors

Students will listen to a story with repetitive text ("I see a") and identify the item. The items are focused on summer & 10 different colors. An excellent book for practicing color recognition.

Book 3: Things to Do in the Summer

This book has vibrant colors to enhance the feeling of summer. A variety of activities are represented in this book. Students will continue developing high-frequency words with the repetitive text "I like to." Activities include baseball, catching bugs, fishing, picnics, swimming, having a lemonade stand, and bubbles.

Book 4: What to Wear in the Summer

We often use Sun Salutations to create a flow of movement from one pose to the next. Our playful Sun Salutation sequence and song are perfect for children ages 4 and older. This Sun Salutation takes the strength and development of children into consideration. This variation of Sun Salutation is safe for children who do not have the core strength required to safely practice planks and low push-ups. Instead, this sequence features safe, child-friendly poses in an order that they can safely transition from one pose to another gracefully.

Use these Would You Rather Questions in 6 different ways:

· Use as a way for parents and children to connect at drop-off in the morning.

· Use as a tool to introduce graphing.
