This product is a supplemental activity to make your lessons more engaging! This product is the BANG! word game using decodable words and sight words from 1st Grade Benchmark Literacy Phonics Unit 1. Benchmark Literacy Phonics Unit 1 is beginning l-family blends (cl, bl, fl, pl, and sl). This produce includes four pages. The decodable words are on the first two pages and the sight words are on the last two pages. There are a total of 40 card which includes 16 decodable words, 14 sight words, and 10 "BANG!" cards. The cards can also be used as flashcards! Directions on how to play: • Students take turns drawing the cards from a face-down pile and try to say the word on the card. • If they can say the word correctly, they get to keep the card. If they cannot, the card goes on the bottom of the card for someone else to have a chance. If playing with only two students, the partner gets a turn and can keep the card if they know it. • When a Bang! card is drawn from the pile the student who drew it has to return all their cards to the bottom of the pile. The Bang! card is not put back into the can. • The game ends when all the cards are drawn. The student with the most cards is the winner! This game is perfect for partner work or small groups! It's Memory!... but with... emoji sight words?

I know, I know... I went off in a different direction with this one. But it was too good of an idea to pass up! I might make more like it!

Students can practice random emoji sight words like "house", "zebra", or "heart" to their pictures in this player vs player or player vs computer game. Cards randomly generate using a choice of about 50 words and pictures.

NOTE: The video is to show how the game works. This copy isn't math based. It uses random sight words and pictures, not math equations.

Features:

* Players can play the computer or another player!

* Computer generates a different combination of pictures and words for you each game; it knows when students are right or wrong.

* A simple computer AI adds a challenge to the game. It keeps track of cards that have already been flipped and knows when they match. Sometimes it chooses to not match, simulating that it "forget".

* Four different robot card backs! They range from R.O.B., the friendly robot, to the out of control Zoe. Players can choose their favorite!

* Music and sound effects make the game fun and interesting.

* Runs on Chromebooks and PC!

JavaScript must be enabled and you must have an internet connection.

Running is EZ! Download the attached file and upzip it. You need BOTH files in the same folder to play. Double click MathMemorySightWords.html and play! That's it! The game should open in your browser and function!

How to Play:

Where's the Black Cat is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a cat is hidden behind a pumpkin. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the sight word they think the cat is behind. Once guessed, the sight word is removed. If the cat is behind the pumpkin, then the cat must be hidden again to play further. If the cat is not behind the pumpkin, then the poem is chanted again with a new sight word.
