Free Social Emotional Learning Games

Are you looking for an easy way to improve student behaviors? This is a fun, easy, print and go activity.

I use the secret missions with my students. Simply print the packet, cut out, and post the missions in your room (be sure to cover each mission with a "secret mission" card".

Then the magic begins. Each morning during your morning meeting time chose a kiddo to uncover a mission. Discuss the mission, the importance of it, what it looks like. I generally have a secret task force who also watches for the behaviors. Then when your children are "caught" they earn a party point/tally/ball (whatever reinforcer you use) for your class. Currently my kids are working to earn hot chocolate with toppings.

Let's Be Friends Board Game is a fun and engaging board game designed for young children in preschool and kindergarten. This exciting game teaches valuable lessons about kindness, teamwork, and empathy while promoting social skills in a playful, interactive way.

This game is a part of the larger Play and Purpose Friendship and Feelings curriculum for Kindergarten. It gives a sample of the interactive activities found in the curriculum, which can be used for an individual child, a small group of children or the whole class depending on the needs of the group. This resource was inspired by a game I play with my preschool students when thinking about Size of a Problem vs Our Reactions. 

This fun game will get your preschool, pre-k or kindergarten students thinking & engaging with the idea that our reactions will differ according to the size of a problem. It works perfectly with your Unit on Problem Solving.

How to Play this Size of the Problem vs Reaction Game?

1. Invite a student up to pick out one scenario and one reaction card.

2. Have them act out the scene. Appropriate or not, encourage your student to act it out.

For example, a student may choose:

Scenario: a broken pencil

Reaction: throw yourself on the floor and cry uncontrollably

3. This might lead to some giggles, but now is the time to activate their critical thinking skills with some of the discussion question provided.

Fun for all ages - my students LOVE playing Minute to Win It games with one another. Who doesn't love a little fun and movement during this busy time of year!! These activities are also a great way to bring classmates together, add healthy competition, and work on showing patience and encouragement to others. Please note that there are other supplies needed for several of these activities to help it run successfully: balloons, cup, paper (snowballs + wreath), spoons, deck of cards, bags.

An absolute favorite for my students (and myself!) This activity not only brings fun energy to the classroom, but creates creative thinking opportunities and works on accepting losses and encouraging others. It is a great way to review different subjects or topics as well, while also adding in some fun! 10 pages of different categories are provided, as well as blank cards to add your very own categories!! Community building activities come in handy at the start of the year... and beyond! This activity focuses on not only working together and building community, but also allows students opportunity to practice active listening skills with a focus on listening to understand and absorb information rather than listening to respond. This activity is great for the basics of get to know you and team building questions, but could also be used to answer more academic-based questions as well. It is fun, interactive, and engaging, which offers a fun change of pace to the classroom!

"Caught Ya Being Respectful" is a fun and engaging activity that not only gets students talking about being respectful and what that looks like, but it also encourages them to make connections of people (that they know and often admire!) that are showing respect around them as well! This activity includes everything needed for your next classroom lesson on respect, including two worksheets (Wanted Poster and Bonus Activity!) as well as different ideas that you can do with the finished products! My students LOVED this and it was fun for our teachers to see the outcome as well. We got a lot of learning and laughs out of this activity!

This is a blast for the whole class - all while focusing on so many important SEL skills. This activity had my classes engaged through the entire lesson and it created great conversation as well! The basket and recycling bin is a great visual for students as they are recognizing kind vs unkind actions.
