Find Someone Who (Novice Spanish) Back to School present tense speaking activity

By Spanish Teacher Stuff

Are you looking for a community building speaking activity for the beginning of school in which the students can get to know each other while reviewing the present tense? This is a great Back to School ice breaker activity for levels Spanish 2, 3 or 4 for the first month of school or if you want to give the students an opportunity to get out of their seats and talk to their classmates. This would be a fun social emotional activity since it promotes positive communication among the students in the class. It is also an interactive way to reinforce the present tense at the beginning of the year. Even though this is a novice activity, it would be a good review for the upper level classes who need to know the present, past and future tenses for the Seal of Biliteracy test.

ACTFL World-Readiness Standards for Learning Languages

Colors in Spanish - Flash cards and word search (Sopa de Letras)

By Jessica

This Spanish colors spelling resource has 7 pages total including flashcards for 10 colors and a word search (sopa de letras). This is perfect for practicing colors spelling in Spanish for an individual or partner activity.

✨Take a peek at the preview to get a closer look.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

  • 7-page PDF file
  • Word search for 10 color words in Spanish
  • Answer key for the word search
  • Printable flashcards in Spanish

Note: The flashcards should be printed on construction paper or a thicker paper. Then you can cut out the cards, glue the backs together, and laminate them for use year after year.

BONUS TIP!

Print the flash cards twice to make a bonus matching game! For this use of the resource, do not glue the crayon cards and word cards together; just print them separately and cut them out. Then, turn the cards facedown on a table. In pairs of two, students can take turns flipping over two cards at a time. When the student finds the card with the written word and the same color crayon at the same time, they can keep the pair.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Print out the word search and distribute it to students to do individually or in teams.

  2. Print the flashcards on thick paper.

  3. Cut out the flashcards and glue them so one side shows the crayon and the other side shows the spelling of the color.

  4. Use the flashcards for the students to quiz each other on spelling.

WHO IS IT FOR?

  • Spanish Teachers: You'll love this as a resource to practice spelling colors in Spanish!
  • Homeschooling Parents: Use this resource to help your child learn the spelling of colors in Spanish through interactive flashcards and a quiet word search activity.

FEATURES

  • Each page is 8.5" x 11", but you can adjust this in your printer settings.
