⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻

This resource bundle is great for:

  • Distance learning
  • Independent work
  • Homework
  • Guided reading sessions
  • Assessment practice
  • Reading interventions

These activities are online resources, that use Google Forms, and are linked to your Google Drive. They can be completed by students online using tablets, phones or computers, and are easily assessed by teachers as all the answers are provided in a quick and easy format.

⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻⎻

Time allowance to complete each activity:

5-10 minutes - read through the text individually.

40-50 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)

Time allowance to assess:

A class set of activities might take around 15-20 minutes to mark; the teacher can then send the students their marks automatically, which allows them to read back through their work. Nearly all answers are not automatically generated, but only require a small amount of work to assign points. This is because the aim is to get students writing answers and not to just have multiple choice options.

Please ensure when you download this resource into Google Drive that you are logged in to the gmail account where you wish to store the activity. In the past teachers have downloaded resources into their school account in error. Thanks :)

Number of players: As many as you want!

How long does this activity take to complete?

It really depends on a lot of things. Estimated completion time is 30-45 minutes but it’s based on the kids’ puzzle skills, group size, and age. We recommend ages 6-10 years old.

How many kids can play at once?

Kids can play individually, with friends, or in large groups. There really is no limit to the number of players.

What if the kids get stuck on one of the puzzles?

First off, let them think for a bit! This is where critical thinking skills come in. If they get stuck, hint cards have been included in your download to guide them. It is advised that you preview the puzzles first, so you understand how to complete them.

Where do kids start?

Kids can start on any puzzles and complete the puzzles in ANY order!

How do you know if their answers are correct?

There is an answer key provided in the PDF.

How do I set up the activity?

Just print and play! Everything you need is included in your download. You don’t need locks (you can definitely prepare one if you wish to), envelopes, or special equipment. You can hang or hide the puzzles or just spread them out on the kitchen table.

Free Image Hunt Worksheet

Description

Free Letter Recognition and Beginning Sounds Worksheet Activity (A-J) Printables

This free resource offers a fun and interactive worksheet for letter recognition and beginning sounds, perfect for Pre-K, kindergarten, and first-grade students.

Designed to enhance early literacy skills, this activity engages young learners in a quest to discover letters and objects that represent each letter of the alphabet. Through this engaging scavenger hunt, students will search for items like apples, bears, cars, and much more, helping to build their confidence in recognizing the alphabet and sparking their interest in learning.

As they explore and find pictures and real-life objects, their letter recognition and vocabulary skills will flourish. Watch as your little ones develop a love for language and lay a strong foundation for future reading success. Let the adventure begin!

How I Use This in My Classroom:

I incorporate this activity into our morning routine. Together, we review the instructions, and I encourage the kids to find images that correspond with our letter of the week. I also prompt them to think of as many related words as they can. The coloring aspect is a favorite among the students, and by the end of the week, we revisit the images and words we've discovered.

  1. Navigate to your “My Purchases” page (you may need to log in).
