6 worksheets in which children need to circle the picture that begins with a given letter.
Why do you need this?
Recognizing beginning sounds lays the groundwork for reading skills. These worksheets give students practice isolating and identifying initial phonemes through interactive activities.
Connecting sounds to letters and pictures reinforces phonetic awareness. With pictures of things like food, animals, and vehicles, children apply knowledge to familiar vocabulary.
How and when might you use this?
Each box focuses on a target starting sound, with a bold letter at the top for reference. Students look at 4 different illustrations and circle any pictures that start with that letter's sound. For example, when the target is "B", learners will circle the banana. This simple yet effective exercise serves as a foundational step in phonics instruction.
Use them for individual practice or small group phonics instruction.

By E•Fish•ient Teaching
This is a fun activity for books that are fish themed. These activities are geared toward the 3rd grade core. There are 4 different pages included: Fractions, Graphing, Adjectives, Multiplication/Division.
Fractions: This is a printable page that needs to be printed in color so students can distinguish between the colors of the fish. They will write fractions for the different colors of fish in the fish tank. Then they will compare with greater than, less than, and equals to at the end.

Students will then graph their goldfish. They can choose to make a bar graph or a pictograph. They just need to remember to label their graph.
Adjectives: This activity is to be done while reading the book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Suess. As the teacher reads the book, the students will write as many adjectives that they can hear on their paper. Then they will use a few of those adjectives to write some sentences about their day.
Multiplication/Division: Students will write multiplication and division equations for the different fish tanks on the paper.
