This comprehensive resource beautifully blends Social Emotional Learning (SEL) principles with growth mindset strategies, focusing on the key character trait of resilience. If you're ready to update your behavior management plan, this might be the lesson for you!

What's Inside?

  • Interactive Google Slides: No need to print, students can engage in this activity from their devices!
  • Differentiated Texts: Engaging, leveled reading materials for Grades 4-8 about people who have shown resilience in real life (Thomas Edison, J.K Rowling, Lizzie Velazquez)
  • Resilience Video: Begin the lesson with an engaging video and writing prompts.
  • Interactive Role-Play Scenarios: Group activities to practice resilience in real-life situations.

Editable Teacher Introduction Letter to Parents | Parent Teacher Communication

By Jennifer Arnold

This editable Handle with Care teacher introduction letter to parents is perfect for sending home with the back-to-school forms or distributing during Back to School nights and Meet The Teacher events. It also comes in a version that you can use year-round for late-starting or transfer students.

This letter helps build a strong parent-teacher communication connection between you and your students’ families.

It encourages parents to communicate openly by letting you know when their child may be going through a challenging time at home—whether it’s a tough morning, a family change, or any other situation that might impact their day.

The letter instructs parents to send an email with the subject line “Handle With Care,” allowing you to provide extra support and understanding to their child.

This resource is designed to make your life easier!

The letter itself is not editable, but adding your name and contact information is quick and simple in Google Slides.

There’s no need to spend time formatting or creating from scratch—just personalize the bottom of the letter with your details, and you’re ready to print or share digitally. It’s a convenient way to foster strong teacher-parent communication and set the tone for a compassionate classroom environment.

✅ Before | After watching a film clip to gauge a reaction.

✅ Before | After reading a short text to begin a discussion.

✅ Before | After discussing a topic.

▶️ Variation #1:

Part 1: The first section of the Anticipation Guide features a list of statements alongside columns labeled "AGREE" and "DISAGREE." Students are tasked with reading each statement and marking either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE" based on their perspective.

Part 2: The second section of the Anticipation Guide prompts students to choose a statement from the list above and delve into its significance to them. They may reflect on how the statement connects to their own lives, share a personal experience related to it, or elaborate on their thoughts concerning its importance in greater detail.

▶️ Variation #2: This Anticipation Guide worksheet format includes a list of statements accompanied by columns for "AGREE," "DISAGREE," and "COMMENTS." Students are instructed to read each statement and mark either "AGREE" or "DISAGREE." They are then encouraged to elaborate on their thoughts or ideas regarding each statement in the designated "COMMENTS" column.

******************************

SELF-ASSESSMENT

This resource includes a single Team Conflicts Self-Assessment. Students will use the team conflicts - related statements to evaluate their ability to effectively navigate and resolve conflicts within group settings. They will score the statements using the following scale: 2 for “Regularly,” 1 for “Occasionally,” and 0 for “Never.” They will use this self-assessment as a tool to help them identify their strengths and areas for improvement in managing and resolving conflicts effectively within team settings.
