Are you looking for a fun way for kids to work on counting skills while celebrating patriotic holidays like the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, or Veteran's Day?
This Patriotic I Spy Game is perfect for classroom activities or at-home fun! This printable seek-and-find worksheet is filled with cute red, white and blue designs that challenge kids to find and count objects, making learning feel like play.
Here’s how you can make the most of this I Spy Game in your classroom or homeschool:
Morning Warm-Up Activity: Start the day with a fun, low-prep task by using it as a “bell ringer.” It’s a great way to help students settle in and get focused right from the start.
Counting & Math Practice: Let students count and record the objects they find, naturally building their basic counting and early math skills. You can even extend the activity by having students create simple addition or subtraction problems based on their findings.
Focus and Observation Exercise: Use it as a calm-down activity to help students practice visual discrimination and focus on details. This makes it ideal for students who need a bit of extra help sharpening their observation skills.
Group or Partner Activity: Have students work in pairs or small groups to complete the Patriotic I Spy game. It’s a fun way to build teamwork and communication skills while keeping students engaged.
Brain Break: Use it as a quick “brain break” or reward activity. It provides a structured yet fun break that keeps kids focused and excited without disrupting your classroom flow.
This Patriotic I Spy Game is a flexible, engaging resource to add to your seasonal toolkit, perfect for mixing fun with learning!

Our Planet | Episode 2: Frozen Worlds Worksheet and Answer Key
By Danielle Mortimore
Looking for a simple worksheet for students to complete while watching episode 2 of Our Planet: Frozen Worlds?
Our Planet is a British nature documentary series made for Netflix. The series is narrated by David Attenborough and produced by Silverback Films, led by Alastair Fothergill and Keith Scholey, who also created BBC documentary series Planet Earth, Frozen Planet and The Blue Planet, in collaboration with the conservation charity World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
Netflix has the free episodes of their Our Planet series on YouTube. Each episode is between 49 to 51 minutes long. I usually have students vote on which one they want to watch. You do NOT have to watch them in order.
These episodes are great for sub plans and for days where the students just need to chill, such as after field days or any weird schedule days. Make sure to read the questions to the students beforehand so that they know what information they are looking for.
