It is great to give students a point of reference when they go to purchase fabrics for their garments they will be making throughout the class. Students are able to see how each type of fabric reacts to the same seams.

Seams and seam finishes included are:

  • Plain Seam
  • Double Stitched Seam
  • Welt Seam
  • Top Stitched Seam
  • Flat Fell Seam
  • French Seam

Seam Finishes

  • Zig-Zag Seam Finish
  • Rolled Hem
  • Serged Edge

This product includes:

  • Instructions on how to create swatches for the seam portfolio
  • Supply list to send home with students of what fabrics they need to purchase for their seam portfolio
  • A rubric for each of the seams for each type of fabric
  • A page with video links for each of the seams so that you can upload how you see fit so students can have access. I find it easy yo upload it to google classroom and then students are able to watch the videos on their phone as the work through each seam type.

Script Writing | Video Production Course | Storytelling

By Reece's Tech Shop by Scott Reece

As a video production teacher, one of the most important parts of my class is to make sure that my students can write a script. Whether it’s the script for the daily news show or the script for a short film, the process is still the same...it’s basic writing. I take a week at the beginning of the semester to talk about script writing in general. Here are those plans.

Day 1 ~ Introduce the idea of movie scripts. Read some movie scripts. Links included to three movies.

Day 2 ~ Brainstorm your script. Work out details on Location.

Day 3 ~ Character Development

Day 4 ~ Introduce Synopsis

Day 5 ~ Write Synopsis and Share movie ideas
