A Google Slides biography writing unit about the famous Brazilian soccer star, Pele. The unit is ideal for both in-class and distance learning in fifth grade and sixth grade. The unit has been split into four separate lessons. The Google Slides activity is ideal for students learning about World History or for Black History Month.

Then, in the third lesson they need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before typing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided.

A BOOM Cards™ Escape Room Activity about Hammurabi's Code and the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia. The self-marking, NO PREP activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in fifth grade or sixth grade.
The activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.

In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Hammurabi's Code and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.
In Task 2 students will complete a crossword puzzle by answering ten questions. Answering these questions correctly will reveal some hidden letters which need to be unscrambled to reveal the second word.
In Task 3 students will sort 27 timeline task cards about the ancient civilization, putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their third word will be revealed.
