4. You can choose to bring double sided or single sided but I prefer single sided for the little ones (you can always take out the page if they make a mistake…harder to do if they also filled out the entire other side…fewer tears for me, the better!)

5. Staple into booklets. I stapled along the binder spirals so they looked more authentic

1. You can print one image per page and make the books bigger

Who can use this resource:

I used this resource with my Grade 1 and 2 students at the end of the year to celebrate our accomplishments and to create a book of our favourite memories. Students loved brainstorming ideas for the various pages. It's amazing what they remember and appreciate from the past ten months of school.

Happy memories, big successes, and all the friends made during our year are worth treasuring. I hope you love filling out all your class memories!

Let students choose from one of 5 thought-provoking sample topics — or invite them to develop a topic of their own. Writing schedule, outline template, and rubric included. (4 pages)
• Framing Quotations: This handout provides students with advice about how to embed textual evidence into a body paragraph. The handout familiarizes students with three different methods for framing quotations: the block quotation, the clause-and-colon method, and the integration of key words and phrases within one's own sentence. (2 pages)
• Outline Template: Provide students with the scaffolding necessary to write a five-paragraph essay. This outline template challenges students to fill in a text box for every part of their essay: hook, thesis, topic sentences, evidence, analysis, and conclusion. (3 pages)
• Assessment Rubric: Evaluate student essays in a quick and efficient manner by using an analytical writing rubric. (1 page)

Because the Word docs are fully editable, you'll be able to customize them to match the skill levels of your students year after year. INTRO TO SHAKESPEARE: Biography, Globe Theater, Language, & Meter

Do you print out your student's writing and have them peer edit? Do you have students' correct sentences when teaching grammar? Then these are perfect for you. These are quick, easy editing marks students can use to correct writing or assist with grammar lessons. I print them out, number the back of them and laminate them.

I hand them out at the beginning of the year to keep in their writing binder. When we do Daily Language they use a red pen to edit the sentences and then rewrite the sentences correctly. When we peer edit I print their writing and they meet with a partner and peer edit each other's work using these correction marks.

• 6 different colors, 2 to a page editing mark cheat sheets
• an example of how to use the editing marks (this could also be a handout you can give to the students or post in the classroom).
