These acorn sentence writing prompts are perfect for a fall writing center. There are 8 prompts for factual and opinion writing and 2 prompts for autumn acrostic poems. Each prompt is available with two writing line versions. Opinion and factual prompt pages also include a section for students to draw a picture of what they wrote.

Acorn Nonstandard Weight and Measurement Task Cards for Kindergarten

Use real acorns in this nonstandard weights and measurements task card activity set. This Kindergarten measurement center allows students to compare weight and measure lengths and heights by using nonstandard units.
Task Cards Included
These task cards use a variety of easy to find materials to compare the weights of acorns with common classroom supplies. The same materials are also used in the measuring length.
Here is the list of materials needed to do all of the task cards.
The following materials are needed to complete these task cards: acorns, balance scale, base ten blocks (or small wooden blocks), bottle of glue, building bricks, crayon, coins, counting cubes, dice, dominos, dot markers, erasers, glue stick, marbles, marker, paint brush, paper clips, pencil, and a toy car.
When to Use
Skills Assessed
The task cards, by themselves, are low prep and just need to be printed and cut apart. They can be laminated for durability if desired. By storing the cards and acorns in task boxes, teachers will have an easy to set up and clean up activity. Gathering the necessary materials may take some time, but once gathered, this becomes a fun, hands on math center to practice nonstandard measurements.
Acorn Counting Cardinality and Comparing Numbers Math Centers for Kindergarten

Each center focuses on counting up to 20, comparing numbers within 10 and teen numbers. The counting forward mats, skip counting mats and comparing number mats can be used with cookie sheets and magnets. Simply place magnets on the back of the number cards and place the mats on the cookie sheet. Students will make 10 using addition with hands on math centers and worksheets. Each center features one card for each making ten math fact from 0-10, giving students a change to practice every addition math fact for making 10. There are two cut and paste worksheets where students will cut out the number and paste it to make each making ten fact true. A third worksheet has students write the correct answer to complete each making ten addition problem. All three worksheets include picture clues to help students solve each addition fact.
When to Use:
These worksheets and centers will keep your students engaged as they learn to make 10 using picture clues. The hands on nature of the centers give students a tactile way to interact with math facts.

What is Included:
There are 26 puzzles, one for each letter of the alphabet.
Each letter is represented in its own puzzle. The top piece has both the capital and lowercase letter and the bottom section have a picture that begins with the letter. The bold, colorful, and easy to recognize images allow students to work independently to build each acorn.
