I designed this directed drawing as an activity when my fifth graders were working with preschoolers. We celebrated May by learning about Mary and finished by creating a picture of Mary.

Older students led the younger students, but this could easily be a teacher led activity.

Creativity comes into the activity when the students color and add their own details onto the picture of Mary.

These name tags have a line designated for the student’s name, type of artwork it is, and grade level of the student.
