~ The One Hundredth Day of School! is a great book to connect with the 100th day of school. Guided reading groups will enjoy making connections to their own projects, activities, classroom and school. The 10 page packet can easily be differentiated. ~Questions are based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and use higher level thinking skills. Students also think beyond the text to respond to many questions. Many questions elicit story recall responses. ~Included in the unit: -comprehension questions for each chapter -Ready, Freddy game – focus on characters and their actions ~ When I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups, the unit can last from a week to two weeks depending on how often the group meets. My guided reading groups also set their own expectations/assignments for completing their books. It will enable the children to enjoy the story even more as well as increase reading fluency, expression and speaking skills.

About the Book

The Night Before Valentine's Day looks in on a house full of excited children, busily cutting out heart-shaped cards and writing silly Valentine rhymes. The next day at school is a day of parties, games, and even a surprise visitor bearing a special Valentine gift for the whole class!

There are four versions included. Two version has roles for three students and the other two version has roles for four students. The versions are all 4 pages.

Stink and the Great Guinea Pig Express is book four in the Stink series. The format is half page (my students LOVE the smaller booklet format). I print the pages on one side of the paper. This allows the back of the page available to use for additional notes or vocabulary work. ~ Ready, Set, Snow! is a great book to connect with the Winter Olympics. Guided reading groups will enjoy making connections to their own classroom and school. The 10 page packet can easily be differentiated. ~Questions are based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and use higher level thinking skills. Students also think beyond the text to respond to many questions. Many questions also elicit story recall responses. ~Included in the unit: -comprehension questions for each chapter -Ready, Freddy Bingo – focus on characters ~ When I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups, the unit can last from a week to two weeks depending on how often the group meets. My guided reading groups also set their own expectations/assignments for completing their books.
