~ Andy Shane and the Queen of Egypt is a wonderful book to reinforce partner work and what it means to work with someone else. This literature unit can be used with a guided reading group or as a whole class novel study. ~Questions are based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and use higher level thinking skills. Many questions also elicit story recall responses. ~Included in the unit: -vocabulary for the book -comprehension questions for each chapter -extension project – Andy’s Pyramid game focus on character details ~ I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups. The unit will last about a week. Sometimes the guided reading groups set their own expectations/assignments for completing their books. ~ Andy Shane and the Queen of Egypt is an AR level 3.5 book.

It will enable the children to enjoy the story even more as well as increase reading fluency and speaking skills.

About the Book

When Splat takes home his class project of fertilized chicken eggs, the eggs hatch and chicks wind up all over the place, forcing Splat to round them up. Based on the series created by Rob Scotton.

This reader’s theater is 4 ½ pages long. There are two versions included; one version has roles for two students and the other version has roles for three students.
