I use these posters in my French Immersion classroom with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students. I feel confident that they could be used for any grade from K-6. They are ideal for classroom decor, bulletin boards, and quiet reading area for young readers.

I personally use these texts with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students in French Immersion. Use this activity to sequence the events in There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Turkey. Each event is pictured on a turkey feather that, when completed, creates an adorable turkey that sequences the story. Print on cardstock to make it more durable or mat it on a large piece of construction paper. Students will color and cut out the turkey feathers and body, glue them together, and have a great "craftivity" that tells what happens in this adorable book.

Where is the present? This Christmas sight word game is great for students who are practicing sight word recognition and beginning reading skills. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for an early education classroom.

What is Included:

The cards are available in two formats, 6 to a page and 4 to a page to accommodate different sized pocket charts.

How to Play:

Where's the Present is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a present is hidden behind a Christmas tree. If the present is not behind the Christmas tree, then the poem is chanted again with a new sight word.

Using this lesson and the book "Pokko and the Drum" by Matthew Forsythe, the children can drum along with Pokko as they follow her journey! Even though the lesson is written to use a frame drum, use any rhythm instruments you have available and modify as you need to. Have the students drum, walk to and decode the chant for an engaging lesson on ta and ti-ti rhythm syllables. Works for either in person or virtual teaching!
