Using the books "'Slowly, Slowly, Slowly' said the Sloth" by Eric Carle and "Freeda the Cheetah" by JTK Belle, explore fast vs. slow tempo. Using the song "Slowly, Slowly, Slowly" have the students move like a sloth to the music. Explore various ways a sloth would move. Ask which animals move quickly and introduce "Freeda the Cheetah" and have them run and drop when the chant says to do so. Additional rhyming and tempo worksheets reinforce the tempo and rhyming words. Can be used and adapted for multiple grade levels.

~ Andy Shane and the Queen of Egypt is a wonderful book to reinforce partner work and what it means to work with someone else. This literature unit can be used with a guided reading group or as a whole class novel study. ~Questions are based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and use higher level thinking skills. Many questions also elicit story recall responses. ~Included in the unit: -vocabulary for the book -comprehension questions for each chapter -extension project – Andy’s Pyramid game focus on character details ~ I use this unit with one of my guided reading groups. The unit will last about a week. Sometimes the guided reading groups set their own expectations/assignments for completing their books. ~ Andy Shane and the Queen of Egypt is an AR level 3.5 book.

Pets are fun!  At various times owners have to figure out what is wrong with their pet or what would be best for their pet.  In Triple Pet Trouble trouble just seems to follow Judy.

Triple Pet Trouble is the perfect book for students just beginning their chapter book reading journey. 

The product format is half page (my students LOVE the smaller booklet format).  The half page packets can be easily tucked inside the book.  Full page format is also include.
