What is the best way to teach number formation? Put it to a rhyme of course!

Help your young learners remember how to write numbers 1-10 with these fun rhymes. Not only does it help them remember during handwriting time, but it also helps them make a visual connection when recognizing numbers.

If you have students struggling with number recognition, practice the rhymes in a variety of ways: sand, whiteboard/marker, bumpy boards, air write, etc. so they get a full multi-sensory experience to solidify number recognition.

These ADORABLE song cards are a FUN & EASY way to incorporate active movement songs into your classroom! I put these cards on the wall in my classroom near my circle carpet and let the children take turns picking out their favorite songs during our music & movement (dance party) time. These versatile cards can also be used in a pocket chart, laminated and placed on a metal binder ring, or used to make song sticks.

The songs included in this product and been tried & tested in an actual preschool classroom and are well-loved by my students. I introduce a handful of songs at the beginning of the year and gradually add more songs as the children begin to gain familiarity with the playlist.

A great way to work on expressive movement with your kids is through HAPPY FEET!

In this lesson, students will hear a 4 minute and 32 second compilation of classical music, Edvard Grieg, John Philip Sousa, Dmitri Shostakovich, and more! Each piece will be played for a segment of time and while being played students will mimic the tempo by showing expressive body movement

• If students hear FAST music, they run as fast as you can in place!
• If students hear SLOW music, try a slo-mo movement in place!
• If students hear MODERATE speed, try marching in place

Of course, as the music teacher you can tailor this however you like, but with social distancing in our classroom at this juncture, the motions are preferable the way they are built :)

In between each segment there may be a slight pause which students will "freeze" in time. Keep the kids' attention by saying if they moving during the silence, they're OUT! ;)

Have a great time and perform this however you wish!

Use this snow themed lesson about a child waiting for snow, for winter appropriate lessons in your classroom. Teach the chant to the students first, then have students say it every time that you come to the phrase "nothing happening out there". Great for teaching and reviewing ta and ti-ti rhythms. 10 original compositions for the Boomwhackers that will reinforce all of your great teachings! All arrangements are an 8.5 x 11 PDF which can be projected on a whiteboard, IWB, or printed out for student use Each colorful arrangement uses the 1 octave C diatonic scale of the boomwhackers and each piece focuses on a specific trait, tailored to meet the needs of your students. The pieces are as follows with their specific role: Boom n' Roll - Tremelos/Rolls/Whole Note Durations Boom Sneak Boom - Grouped Eighth Notes and Rests C it and Hear it! - C diatonic scale Variations Dynamically Boomed - Forte and Piano switches Grow n' Go - Crescendos across 1 and 2 measure phrases Legend of the Eighth Engine - Eighth Notes and Subdivision Plastic Jam Op. 2016 - Melodies, Intervals, and Chords Riders of the Boom - Melodic Direction and Sequencing The Boom Room - Arpeggios and Chords The Rest Tests - Counting Quarter Note Rests Tempi is completely up to you! Each arrangement is 20 measures long (after 2 repeats) and includes boomwhacker notation and color on a treble clef staff, which are easy to read large print. This is a solfege and ostinato lesson using this wonderful book. Use the song as either a song or chant, depending on the age group. You can accompany yourself or sing acapella to practice singing la, so mi, re and do syllables in tune. Add Orff instruments for the ostinato and rhythm sticks to accompany the song. Use the worksheet (paper or in Easel) to trace the swapping journey with your older students. Adaptable for grades PreK-2nd grade.

Get your class on beat! Included are 24 background tracks with ethnic flair -- tablas, bongos, electric kits, and drum sets for your kids to jam with. The 24 tracks vary from 95 bpm all the way to 125 bpm (there are 6 different tracks with 4 different tempo)

Want a sneak peak? Give the preview a sample of some of the tracks!

I use these in my class for Orff, Boomwhacker, Rhythm Sticks, Dancing, Movement, or singing activities. The tracks go for about 1 minute each, but you can manipulate a longer track by having it stay on repeat for as long as you wish

This lesson combines both books to demonstrate loud and soft sounds. Begin by talking about various sounds that can be made and then introduce "Quiet as a Mouse". Have the students quietly chant along as the mouse grows more frustrated that no one will play with it. Then go on to "Suki The Very Loud Bunny" to demonstrate loud sounds. Have the children move and play along with the chant. Use the rhythm and beat chart for the first book to explain rhythm vs. steady beat, as well as show that rests get a beat as well. Use the worksheet attached as a paper or digital activity through Easel. Also great to decode chants for rhythm syllables. Adaptable for grades PreK-2nd grade.
