New Year/New Year's Eve Color by CVC Word puzzles covering short a, e, i, o, and u word families. Each color by word puzzle features 4 to 5 CVC words for a vowel family in two difficulty levels for 10 puzzles total. I've included both a picture clue set and a word clue set. In the picture clue set, students look at the picture of the word and then find the corresponding word to color. In the word clue set, students have the CVC word to look at and find the matching word to color in the puzzle. No prep! Just print and go.

How do learners do this new year's craft activity?

- Print out the pages you'd like learners to do for this activity.

- Provide learners with paint, you can get learners to paint their own hands with paint. Alternatively, provide learners with trays of 1 to 2 colors filled with a thin layer of paint, they will dip their palms into the paint.

- Learners will then place their palms onto the page to stamp their handprint and create their new year's handprint project.

- Leave the pages up to dry completely before giving it back to your learners.

This is a fun activity, but can get rather messy, so make sure your learners are aware of what they are doing so it does not get out of control. Keeping only a couple of trays of paint for learners to dip their palms into would definitely help with reducing the mess.

Play French scattergories when you need quick, no prep activities to play with your class while they practice their French New Year / Nouvel An vocabulary, oral, and written skills. These categories games includes many activities with a French New Year vocabulary theme which work well as ice-breakers.

Players attempt to create answers for each of the four categories on their game. This should be a fast moving game and there are only spaces for six words per category. The MAXIMUM they can write is six words so they have to choose them wisely. Students can be creative and flexible with their answers, but other players can challenge them!

12 games are included with 48 different categories! You can either print out the game sheets or project them to save paper and ink. For younger students you can allow more time for them to think and write, while older students will love the challenge of the timer.
