Patriotic Themed Letter Recognition Centers and Puzzles

These patriotic themed letter and number cards and puzzles are a great Fourth of July, Memorial Day or any patriotic holiday activity for preschool and kindergarten students. Students can practice letter and number recognition by matching capital and lowercase letters and matching numbers and number words up to 20.
What is Included:
Students will love the hands on activities in this resource. There are a variety of different games and activities that students can complete independently or with a partner.
Ways to Use the Cards:
With a wide variety of uses, these cards will allow students to be engaged with learning their letters and numbers, as well as learning number words and practice counting.
How to Use the Puzzles
All of the cards and puzzles in this resource can be stored in task boxes. This allows teachers to have an easy to set up activity that students can easily clean and put away themselves.
Skills Assessed:
Each part of this resource is low prep. They all just need to be printed out and cut apart before use. The teacher may choose to laminate the pieces for durability.

This hundred's chart mystery picture and puzzle is perfect for a bird themed, patriot themed or USA themed activity. It would be great in a math centers for students to reinforce their knowledge of numbers. There are several ways to use this packet: 1. You can use page 3 only and have the students simply color the mystery picture. 2. You can use page 4 and pages 6-10 and have students draw the cards and then fill in the right color. 3. You can use pages 6-10 and have students put the picture together like a puzzle. 4. You can use the answer key and cut it apart to make small puzzles.
Fourth of July Alphabet Clip Cards

These patriotic alphabet clip cards are the perfect way for preschoolers and kindergartners to practice letter recognition and matching capital and lowercase letters with a 4th of July theme. Students can also practice building fine motor skills by using clips to mark each letter.
What is Included:
There are 4 clip cards for each letter of the alphabet. Activities include matching the capital letter to a matching capital letter, matching a lowercase letter to the matching lowercase letter and matching capital letters with the correct lowercase letters.
How to Use:
Students will take one clip card, look at the letter on the star and then clip the letter that matches. The teach may choose to use small manipulatives, like mini erasers, bingo chips or counters to mark each correct response. The cards can also be laminated for students to use dry erase markers to mark correct answers.

These Fourth of July sight word spelling cards make a fun patriotic literacy center for students to enjoy while practicing spelling sight words from the preprimer or kindergarten word list.
What is Included:
Each sight word card features a star with the sight word printed on it. Students will use the boxes to the right of the word to spell the sight word on the star.
Ways to Use
When using these cards inside a literacy center, the letter tiles can be used to spell the words, or teachers can provide letter stamps, letter clips, scrabble tiles or other types of letter manipulates for students to use to spell each sight word.

Get your students excited about coordinates on Presidents' Day! These worksheets aim to plot a number of coordinates to find an inspiring message to celebrate some of the most influential US Presidents who all left their mark on history.
This can help motivate your students to try their best to get the message right by plotting the ordered pairs correctly and accurately.
This resource can be used as an activity, math centers, fast finishers, homework, substitute, "filler days", or as graphing activity! Completed messages will make great bulletin boards for your classroom or hallway.

Directions: Students will plot the letters in the coordinate plane. The letters should be written above each point. Then, they will read the message from left to right. Finally, they'll write the message in the given space.
A coordinate grid is included with this activity. Only the First Quadrant is used therefore it can be used for beginners.
With this resource, you can challenge your class to test their understanding of coordinates to find the hidden message in a fun and meaningful way. So it's a great way to challenge their skills.

Abraham Lincoln Escape Room Activity

An Abraham Lincoln Escape Room activity. Ideal for fifth grade or sixth grade, the breakout room activity is perfect for group work, Presidents Day, an American Civil War topic, team-building activities or for a fun, engaging and interactive lesson. The activity can be used in English class as it incorporates some ELA skills or in Social Studies.
The activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room.

In Task 1 students will read an informational text about Abraham Lincoln and then find their way through a maze by answering true or false comprehension questions. If they answer the questions correctly they will reveal their first word.
In Task 2 students will use the same informational text to complete a crossword puzzle. Within the puzzle there are several hidden letters which will need to be unscrambled on the completion of the puzzle to reveal the second word.
In Task 3 students will have to cut out 27 timeline task cards before putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their task they can glue them onto the answer key which will reveal their third word.
In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This hidden word is their fourth and final word.
Students can then complete their student answer key with the four words they revealed before checking with the teacher to see if they have escaped successfully.

U.S. Presidents Timeline Display and Sorting Activity

A great classroom display and sorting activity that is perfect for introducing students to all of the U.S Presidents throughout history. Great for class work, distance learning and home schooling. There are 46 posters or cards of all of the U.S Presidents, starting with the very first, George Washington, up until present day president, Joe Biden.
The posters look great as a display in the classroom and the cards are a brilliant resource for looking into U.S. History.
