Writing and Reading for St. Patrick's Day:

Students will enjoy using either Lucky Charms marshmallows or cards to complete Mad Libs. Students will add nouns (the item) or adjectives (the color) to a provided Mad Libs. When they complete this their teacher can have them write their own Mad Libs which they will have a friend complete.

Student will love making nonsense stories for St. Patrick's Day. They will be creative as they think outside the box.

This is a fun and silly St. Patrick's Day activity to get your students writing. They can read the poem Five Crazy Leprechauns and then create their own little poem. There is a page that lays out the way to write the poem. Students will need to know what an adjective and verb is. If you have older students and want to extend it for them print the 'Create your own Leprechaun Poem' table twice and have the students start at 10 leprechauns. You can choose whether your students have to rhyme or if it is a free style poem. There are so many ways you can use this in the classroom. Included is also a cute page for them to write their own poem on.

• Integrate close to Saint Patrick's Day with the Shamrock Visual

Note:

•The Holy Trinity is a very complex theological subject. I have tried my best to make it just a bit understandable to littles, although it is still quite a wonderful mystery to even us adults.

•We do not know what the Father looks like and the spirit is unseen. The picture of “God The Father” is just the closest thing I could find to give the students a visual. The dove comes from when Jesus was baptized and the Bible says “The Spirit descended on Him like a dove.” The fire is from when the Spirit came at the Pentecost.

•There is no mention of Saint Patrick in this lesson. Only the Trinity and shamrock visual.

•It’s all from the Bible :If you have any questions on the content of the lesson, please scroll to the very end of this resource to see all of the Bible verses and chapters I studied to make sure this lesson was Biblically accurate. These can also be used as an extension to many of the main points in the lesson.

These nonstandard measurement activities are fun, low prep and differentiated! This bundle is more than just another measurement worksheet. Each themed set has multiple differentiated books. This allows students to practice measuring the length of objects while practicing reading!

Students can either count the links or use the links to measure. This makes it the perfect introduction to measurement.

4 books with multiple versions for easy differentiation and multiple days of practice

- Tall and Sort (Which one is taller? The truck is taller.) uses the words taller, tallest, shorter and shortest

- March Measuring

(example page: How tall is the jar? The jar is ___ links/shamrocks tall.) objects are 1-4 links or shamrocks tall.

- Spring Measuring

(example page: How tall is the carrot? The carrot is ___ links/inchworms tall.)

objects are 1-4 links or inchworms tall.

- Measuring in the Ocean

(example page: How tall is the jellyfish? The jellyfish is ___ links tall.)

objects are 4-9 links tall/long.

This is so much more than just a one and done measuring worksheet.  After students complete the measuring portion, they can put it in their book box or take it home to read again and again!  

Prep is quick and easy..  Digital? Assign and let the kids work! Making the mini books? Just print, staple and cut.  No color ink, no extra manipulatives needed!
