Where's the Pie? Alphabet Game with Turkeys for Thanksgiving
By Jennifer Connett
Where is the pie? This turkey themed alphabet game for Thanksgiving is great for students who are practicing letter sounds or letter recognition. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for a Preschool, Pre-k or Kindergarten classroom.
Ways to Use
How to Play
Where's the Pie? is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a pie is hidden behind a turkey. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the letter they think the pie is behind. Once guessed, the letter is removed. If the pie is behind the turkey, then the spider must be hidden again to play further. If the pie is not behind the turkey, then the poem is chanted again and a new letter is guessed. This game has letters in both capital and lowercase forms.

Sort colors with this fun turkey center! This center is differentiated with 3 levels of activities. The easiest level is for students to simply match the colored feathers to the color on the turkey's belly. The intermediate level has the color word on the turkey's belly. The color word is colored according to the word. For example, the turkey word red is colored red. This serves as an introduction to color words. The most advanced level has the color word with white print for the students to read and place the right colored feather on the turkey. Simply match the feathers provided or create your own with the blank feather template or cut your own feathers from colored construction paper. Lay the feathers behind the correct turkey or create pockets for the colors to slide into.
Thanksgiving Telling Time Game to 5 Minutes
By The Treasured Schoolhouse
“Turkey Time” is a fun game for kids to work on their telling time skills to 5 minutes. Players move around the game board by drawing a time card and setting that time on the turkey and pumpkin clock. They then roll the die if they’re correct and move that number of spaces.
Included in this game...
• Game board (2 pages)
• Clock w/ hands
• 15 movement cards (1 blank to add your own) with optional backs
• Cover/directions
• 20 digital time cards
Suggestions: Print the turkey and pumpkin clock on card stock and laminate. Print the game boards on paper, mount inside a file folder and laminate. Also, be sure to laminate the cards for durability and print on card stock if possible.
Additional Materials Needed: You will need player tokens for each player. I use miscellaneous ones from games no longer used. You will also need one die (dice).
