This activity not only brings fun energy to the classroom, but creates creative thinking opportunities and works on accepting losses and encouraging others. It is a great way to review different subjects or topics as well, while also adding in some fun! 10 pages of different categories are provided, as well as blank cards to add your very own categories!! Resource is ready to use upon download - enjoy!

Fun for all ages - my students LOVE playing Minute to Win It games with one another. Who doesn't love a little fun and movement during this busy time of year!! These activities are also a great way to bring classmates together, add healthy competition, and work on showing patience and encouragement to others. Please note that there are other supplies needed for several of these activities to help it run successfully: balloons, cup, paper (snowballs + wreath), spoons, deck of cards, bags.

Get to know one another!

After a lot of procedure time at the beginning of the year students need to get up and move. Get your students up and moving while getting to know one another. Students will choose their preferences to multiple choice topics and then get up and move to a corner labelled with the answer of their choice.

This could also be completed as a seated activity with choice cards.

Game Collection:

As a teacher it is always a good idea to have those games that you can pick up quickly to fill those random few minutes of down time. I did not create these games, these are games which I have used in my classroom for so long that I do not remember where they came from. I have simply written out the rules to share with you to help you fill those moments.

My students love these games. After the first couple of run throughs of rules and practice they are able to get their dice and go on their own when instructed. Often when I have early finishers and I know they need a bit of a brain break that is not too distracting, I send them off to play one of these games.

The game "Petals on the Rose" was shared with me by a student who had gone Math Camp over 10 years ago. I use it at least once a week as an end of day activity. The kids love trying to figure out the rules!

This is a FREEBIE of Addition flashcards (Adding 0 and Adding 1) that can be printed on card stock for each student's independent practice. I have my students cut apart the cards, and write their initials and the answer to the problem on back of each card. I try to print each set on a different color of card stock.
