Fraction strips are used as a math manipulative and a more hands-on approach to teaching your students to visually see the value of each proper fraction to a whole.

This product specifically aligns with Engage NY 4th grade module 5 and Eureka Math's fraction modules. This resource includes student friendly anchor charts that can be used as classroom posters, printed and kept in student math folders/binders as a reference tool, kept in student's daily math toolkit binders, or sent home to help parents be knowledgeable of classroom topics to better support their children be successful with the academics. This resource includes products for fractions overview/fraction strips, adding fractions, subtracting fractions, equivalent fractions, comparing fractions with the butterfly method and converting mixed numbers to improper fractions using both the reverse C method as well as number bonds. Each of the topics includes student practice pages that can be used with any worksheet, digital product, textbook materials, etc. These student practice page come in three versions. One version which offers the most support to students includes an example, step by step directions on how to appropriately do that skill at the top of the page and a template that students use to guide their work to help them be as independent as possible. The second version only includes the template to guide them but not the step by step directions. The third version offers only the example with the step by step directions but no template; students write out and complete each equation on their own.

This resource would be great to have on hand to use for students the first day a topic is introduced as they initially learn and practice the process. It would also be helpful to have for struggling learners to use as a guide to allow them more independence but structured practice. Special education classrooms, ICT and even general education classrooms could all benefit from having these on hand.

I love quick assessments that show me students understood the lesson. I built these exit tickets base on Into Math modules 1 -10 for 5th grade. I use these after teaching the lesson, sending home the More Practice/Homework page complete for homework, and then the next day they take the exit ticket. I can quickly glance at the tickets and set aside the ones I will need to meet with to solidify the concept taught for the lesson that was missed.

A simple conversion poster that shows the main single digit fractions, as well as tenths and twentieths, their percentage and decimal values. Cartoon Last Character Standing

Students will be given a list of Cartoon Characters to see how their characters are eliminated over a 10 day period during the Last Character Standing Games. They will be given a pair of dice that will be used to determine if the character moves on to the next day or if they are eliminated. On the back is a series of questions to ensure that students are learning about experimental probability. Very fun and there will be a lot of laughs.
