After searching online for basic cell diagrams, I did not find any that looked similar to the app so I decided to draw a plant and animal cell in 3D to match the iCell app. The drawings match up to the cells used in the app. Students can look at the basic, intermediate, or advanced descriptions from the app and colour the cell using specific colours as identified in the handout. An additional set of questions is included to ensure students explore through each of the descriptions of the plant and animal cell. Explore the life cycle of a butterfly, a bee, an apple, a bald eagle, a turkey and more! These no-prep, label the picture printables are great for practicing scissor skills or handwriting in labeling centers, writing centers, to complement science units or for ESL students.

Each life cycle comes in two versions for differentiated learning: one version is a cut and paste, the other is a fill-in-the-blank version with a word bank for more advanced students. Cut and paste versions work well for preschool and kindergartners working on scissor skills, while the word bank version gives older kinders, first and second graders practice at writing and identifying the parts of the life cycles.
