Back to School Color by CVC Word puzzles covering short a, e, i, o, and u word families. Each color by word puzzle features 5 to 7 CVC words for a vowel family in two difficulty levels for 10 puzzles total. I've included both a picture clue set and a word clue set. This bundle includes every Color by CVC Word puzzle set in the Three Little Homeschoolers store. These puzzles cover short a, e, i, o, and u word families. Each set includes 5 puzzles in 2 difficulty levels for a total of more than 400 puzzles.

Each color by word puzzle features 4 to 6 CVC words for a vowel family in both difficulties. I've included both a picture clue set and a word clue set. In the picture clue set, students look at the picture of the word and then find the corresponding word to color. In the word clue set, students have the CVC word to look at and find the matching word to color in the puzzle. No prep! Just print and go.

Looking for a fun way to incorporate themed vocabulary into your classroom or homeschool? Use these weekly thematic word work units to introduce new words and practice spelling, handwriting, sentence building, and drawing. This bundle includes the Weekly Thematic Vocabulary units for September - May.

All of the 9 included units contain five weeks of vocabulary work. Each week features a different themed picture or pictures, six vocabulary words to learn, and five days of quick, fun activities using those words. Daily activities are numbered to keep the student on track and are quick enough to be used as morning work or in a literacy center. All units include five weeks of vocabulary work so that in months with four weeks you can choose the themes that best fit your classroom. Also included: black and white versions of all five weeks for easier printing.

This unit is great for a classroom but was developed with homeschoolers in mind. The daily format mimics several homeschool vocabulary programs to make it easy to use alongside older siblings. Pair the themes up with your themed unit studies for added learning! This vocabulary curriculum is geared towards kindergartners or first graders who need some extra vocabulary practice, but can be used by any age that needs to work on handwriting, reading, and sentence building skills.

Each week includes the following:

-Themed Introduction Page - includes a themed picture(s) and the six vocabulary words for the week. Can be laminated for a center to save on ink if using in a classroom!

-Day 1 - match the vocabulary words to their pictures

-Day 2 - trace the vocabulary words

-Day 3 - write the vocabulary words

-Day 4 - finish the sentences with the vocabulary words

-Day 5 Option 1 - copy the sentence and illustrate it

-Day 5 Option 2 - student picks a sentence from Day 4, writes it, and illustrates it

Adaptive Books with a back to school theme cover fun topics such as going back to school, what do you do in school and jobs we do at school. I have also included cards & editable name tags to use for job assignments. These books require some prep work; however, once made, you can use them year after year!  

Book 1: Back to school

Students will listen to a short story going back to school & what we can expect during the school day. Expected behaviors are also introduced such as stay with the class, walk in the hallway & follow my teacher directions. This story is colorful.  

Book 2: What do you do at school?

Students will listen to a story talking about different areas at school & expected behaviors. Areas include: hallway, arrival, art, classroom, PE, cafeteria & recess.

Book 3: Jobs in my classroom

This book identifies 8 jobs to be completed in the classroom. These jobs include:

• tech support - taking care of computers by plugging in
• botanist - watering class plants
• paper passer - helping teacher pass out and collect papers
• chairs - putting chairs up at end of day / returning to specific areas
• sweeper - sweeping the floor
• pencil sharpener - sharpening dull pencils / throwing out short or broken ones
