Over 60 colourful, fun and engaging visual supported clip cards to support students understanding of punctuation.

Students are encouraged to read the sentence on each card (which is supported by a visual cue), then determine the correct use of pronunciation and place a peg or clip on the correct answer. There are a total of 60 cards with three punctuation options :
full stop, exclamation mark and question mark.

An additional extension activity is to discuss and reflect on how using alternative pronunciation can change the entire meaning of the statement. Students are encouraged to use clothes pegs to identify the right answer. An alternative can be to use a white board marker or simply point. These are great for young learners including preschool, kindergarten, students with autism and special education needs.

How to Use

• These affixes posters can be used as a classroom display.

These puzzles are a low prep activity for students to practice words with prefixes and suffixes. Capitalize the First Letter in a Sentence

This packet uses real photographs to help teach compound words. Students can complete compound word puzzles as well as cut and paste activities for a variety of practice with compound words.

What is Included:

• 10 compound word puzzles with real photographs
• 5 build, draw and write pages featuring the same compound words found in the puzzles. (There are two words per page).
• 2 cut and paste sheets where students paste the correct word under the picture then write a sentence with one of the compound words.
• 3 cut and paste sheets where students cut out the individual words that make up each compound word and glue them with the correct picture. They then write the compound word and write a sentence with one of the words.

Compound Word Spelling Worksheets

Have students practice making and breaking apart contraction with this set of self checking cards. There are two sets of contraction cards. One set shows the words (it is) on the top and the contraction (it's) hidden inside. The second set is reversed, with the contraction on the outside and the words are hidden. There is a recording sheet for each set.

Students will look at the words or contraction on the front of the card. Then, they will write the words or contraction on the recording sheet in the first column. They will then write the corresponding contraction or words in the second column. Finally, the student will open the card to see if they answered the second column correctly. They then fill in YES or NO in the third column to indicate whether their answer was right or wrong in the second column. They fix the second column if they were incorrect.
