Build a Classical Superhero! Each activity uses the students initial(s) to decode a music-inspired name, instrument, and theme song. Great for a back to school, mini class activity, or a music center.

The objective is to assemble a variety of musical qualities for the hero. Each superhero will have a different story, briefly told through their theme song and other choices. Creative writing or storytelling is encouraged.

Full-color pages for music centers/activities are included, with a variety of design and color options provided. The black & white version is also included.

What's Inside:

• Instruction Page An easy to follow guide of how to build a superhero is provided.
• Superhero Name Generator - Students use their first and last initials to generate a unique hero name. There are two choices per box to choose from - which adds variety if a student has the same first & last initials. The names are from classical composers and are not gender specific.
• Superhero Instrument Sounds - Will their superhero arrive with a loud trumpet blast or a soothing violin? The first letter of their name will lead them to the answer.
• Find Your Superhero Theme! - Every hero needs a theme, and a musical superhero is no exception. Each letter is associated with a popular classical music piece; making their themes easier to identify. A superhero theme will range from Bach'shauntingly beautiful "Toccata and Fugue" to the inspiring "Morning Mood" by Grieg.
• Meet Your Classical Superhero! - All of the activities come together here - students can choose between two characters as their heroes to name and color. The additional character can be their partner or sidekick. After their instrument and theme song have been filled in, students can use the checkbox to choose which musical era they are from.

BACK TO SCHOOL PHONICS GAMES - BOSSY R GAMES is a set of 6 board games with a September Back to School theme. You'll have games for these skills: /ar/, /ir/, /er/, /or/, /ur/ and mixed. 6 games in color and 6 in B&W. Print & Go, just add a die.

These gameboards are "closed" gameboards. You can make these work in your favor by setting up the guidelines ahead of time. Students can continue to play round and round the board until the time is up. Put a small pile of tokens such as cubes in the center and they can collect one for each lap they make if you want a way to keep score. Or, you can state that the games are over after a player has made 5 rounds, or however you choose.

This word search puzzle contains 43 words of vocabulary related to Columbus day, it is designed to help students make sense of the story of Christopher Columbus and his journey to the Americas in 1492.

Through this activity, students will show increased vocabulary and understanding of why Columbus Day celebrations occur in the United States.

The words may be hidden in any direction (including diagonally but not backward) and there may be some overlap. This makes for a somewhat challenging puzzle. Lots of classroom fun is guaranteed.

It’s a fantastic way for your students to practice one-to-one correspondence while counting, number recognition as well as shape and color matching There is #2 pages of numbers 1-10 as well as two pages of the corresponding number of shapes for each number 1-10.

Print, laminate and attach the #2 pages with numbers on them to a file folder. Then cut out and laminate the strips with the shapes on them.

Once everything is laminated attach a velcro dot on the front of each number strip and then attach velcro dots to the opposite side of the paper strips with the number of corresponding shapes on them.

This is a great way to introduce the concepts of red and green behavioural choices. These are great for the beginning of the year or reminders about positive and accepting behaviours as well as how we can contribute to an empowered learning environment. This is a great way to facilitate conversation, discussion and insight about red and green choices.

There are over 40 different mats for larger classes and clear distinction between acceptable and positive behaviours (which are green) and unacceptable and negative behaviours (which are red).
