What are wheel clip cards?

Wheel clip cards just have several correct answers, as compared to the normal clip card, which generally only has one correct answer. Hence, this should be used only when the learner is more familiar with the concept and can use this as further practice.

How do I prepare this resource?

The centers are best used by first printing on cardstock and then laminating.

Shape Sorting with Spiders

This first grade math set focuses on 2d and 3d shapes as well as exploring equal parts and ½ and ¼ fractions of different shapes. There are four different rings used to explore shapes and their attributes. Set 1: On this math ring students will record the number of sides and corners for each shape. Set 2: On this math ring, students will identify the 3D shape in the picture. Set 3: Determine whether each shape is divided into equal parts then circle YES if it is or NO if it is not. If the shape is divided into equal parts, then write the number of parts the shape is divided into. Set 4: On this ring, look at each shape and determine if the shaded area covers ½ or ¼ of the shape. Circle the write answer. These math rings can be laminated so students can use dry erase markers to record their answers directly on the math ring. There are optional recording sheets available of each math ring. Decorate your tree and practice shape recognition and counting at the same time! Students will draw or glue the desired shapes onto their tree to create their very own shape Christmas tree! There are three ways to complete this activity: 1. Draw a shape: Students will pick cards and draw the correct number of that shape onto their tree. They draw cards until their tree is full of different shapes! 2. Glue a shape: Students will pick cards and glue the correct number of objects of that shape onto their tree. They continue to draw cards until they have filled their tree with shapes! Each shape has a suggested material list included. 3. Class Christmas Tree: Students each draw a card and either draw or glue the desired shapes onto a large class tree. This class tree can be a door decoration or a wall decoration. The draw and glue cards are available in color and in black and white!

Practice matching shapes and simple counting with this fun Christmas themed card game.

Decorate the Tree!

1. Give each student one Christmas Tree mat.

2. Shuffle the shape cards and place them face down in the middle of the students.

3. The first student will draw a card and place that many of the particular shape on their tree. If the “Give a gift” card is drawn, then if the student has enough shapes on their tree, then they are to give one to each of the other players.

4. When all the cards are gone, the game is done.

The playing mats and game cards are available in color and in black and white. Use shape blocks to place the correct shape(s) on the tree.

Math Rings: Equivalent Addition -- There are three sets of rings where students are to write an addition problem that has the same sum as the addition problem or number bond on the left. Math Rings: Fact Families -- This includes 1 math ring for practicing fact families for sums 10 and under. Math Rings: Measurements -- Practice standard (cm) and non-standard (cubes/squares) measurements with this math ring set. Math Rings: Money -- Students practice counting and comparing coins. Math Rings: Number Bonds for Sums up to 10 -- This math ring is designed to help students create their own number bonds and addition problems by using picture prompts. This set of rings goes up to sums of 10. There are 16 cards in this set. Math Rings: Numbers within 120 -- Students will fill in the missing number in various sequences of numbers by counting by 1s, 2s, 5s and 10s. Math Rings: One More One Less -- This math ring packet includes problems and word problems for solving one more and one less. There are 6 different rings with 2 levels of difficulty. Math Rings: Place Value of Two Digit Numbers -- This ring includes various activities to practice number knowledge and working with place value of two digit numbers. Math Rings: Sequencing -- Fill in the missing number in a variety of number sequences, from counting to skip counting with in 120. Math Rings: Telling Time -- Students read different clocks to record what time they say. Math Rings: Ten More/Ten Less -- Students will find 10 more or 10 less of numbers with 100 as well as solve word problems for 10 more and 10 less. There are 3 different rings each with 2 difficulty levels.

This activity is great to do at the end of grade one or perhaps the beginning of grade 2 to assess what your students know about the math presented to them from the grade one math curriculum. This package has 36 cards and comes with instructions. There is not specific start of end card, so long as the cards are all used, or you strategically remove the cards you are not using. Cards include: - addition - substraction - days of the week - month of the year - weight (heavier/lighter) - money (coins) - shapes Please don't forget to take a look at the other items I have available in my store!

This worksheet will allow students to practice tracing 3D shapes, to help them become more comfortable with drawing them on their own!

This poster can be blown up for the classroom, and you can have students label it themselves. You can also use it as print outs, for students to label the shapes.
