In Module 1, spanning the first four weeks, students will focus on mastering four consistent words each week across different word search puzzles. This repetition aids in solidifying their understanding and retention of these fundamental words.

From Week 5 to Week 35, the excitement continues as students explore three or four words of the current week alongside a review of the three or four words from the previous week. Here's how to use this resource:

Find the Words: Encourage students to search for the high-frequency words hidden in the puzzle. Words may appear horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, but never backward.

Circle the Words: Once students locate a word, have them circle it to indicate that it has been found.

Trace the Words: After circling each word, students should trace them in the provided boxes. This reinforces spelling and handwriting skills.

Write a Sentence: To reinforce vocabulary usage further, students should write a sentence using one or more of the words they found. This encourages contextual understanding and application of the words in sentences.

Additionally, the last page of this resource is designed to be printed as a backside. It provides extra lines for students to write more sentences, allowing for further practice and exploration of the high-frequency words.

By engaging in these activities, students will strengthen their ability to recognize high-frequency words and enhance their writing skills through sentence construction.

Differentiation:

For children with greater ease when it comes to tracing the hidden words, I'd use the "Find and write" resource, while for the rest, I would opt for the "Find, circle, and trace" resource.

You will find three PDF files with three different font sizes of the hidden words for children with problems seeing words due to their visual ability. Use the one that suits each child or your group best. The two smaller ones will require the use of a magnifying glass, but most will be able to read the larger one without using it.

No hay mejor forma para aprender vocabulario que escribir las palabras tras fijarte minuciósamente en como se escriben.

Tus estudiantes tendrán que buscar con una lupa las palabras diminutas de la semana de HMH ocultas en los dibujos de animales, y las escribirlas en la propia ficha de trabajo. Finalmente podrán escribir una oración utilizando una o varias de las palabras de la semana y colorear el dibujo los que gusten o hayan terminado pronto.

Diferenciación:

Para niños con mayor dificultad a la hora de escribir las palabras escondidas, existe este otro producto donde tan sólo se les requerirá trazar las palabras ya escritas con letra de puntos.

Teach and learn 300 HMH Spelling Words with these no-prep worksheets. Practice 6 Spelling Words each week for the first 15 weeks, and 10 Spelling Words a week for the next 21 weeks. There is a total of 36 weeks.

There is one 6-words roulette in every worksheet for weeks 1 to 15. In weeks 16 to 36, there are two 5-words roulettes.

You will get two 36-pages PDF files:

One to use as a center. It has the Title instead of the Name and Date field.
One to use as a worksheet. It has a Name and Date field instead of the title.

Directions for the worksheets: Take a pencil and a paper clip and use them as a spinner. Trace the spun words in the table boxes with a pencil or just color the boxes. Keep going until one of the words wins. Write the winning words on the bottom.

No hay mejor forma para aprender vocabulario que escribir las palabras tras fijarte minuciósamente en como se escriben.

Tus estudiantes tendrán que buscar con una lupa las palabras diminutas de la semana de HMH ocultas en los dibujos de animales, marcarlas con un círculo o línea, y trazar las palabras escritas con letra de puntos en el margen derecho. Además podrán escribir una oración utilizando una o varias de las palabras de la semana y colorear el dibujo los que gusten o hayan terminado pronto.

Diferenciación:

Para niños con mayor facilidad a la hora de trazar las palabras escondidas, existe este otro producto donde se les requerirá escribir las 11 palabras en 11 huecos en blanco.

1st Grade Find and write the tiny HMH Spelling Words

A great resource for working on the 300 first-grade HMH spelling words of the week writing the tiny words hidden in the drawing. There are a total of 36 weeks.

Your students will have to look with a magnifying glass for the tiny words of the HMH week hidden in the pictures of animals and write them in the boxes. They will also be able to write a sentence using one or several words of the week and color the drawing whoever wants or finishes soon.

There is no better way to learn vocabulary than to write the words after paying close attention to how they are written.

There are two different resources available:

'Find and write' resource: Your students will have to look with a magnifying glass for the tiny spelling words of the week hidden in the pictures and write them in the boxes. They will also be able to write a sentence using one or several words of the week and color the drawing whoever wants or finishes soon.
'Find, circle, and trace' resource: Your students will have to look with a magnifying glass for the tiny HMH spelling words hidden in the pictures, circle or line them, and trace the dotted words in the boxes. They will also be able to write a sentence using one or several words of the week and color the drawing whoever wants or finishes soon.

Both products can be purchased separately, but also together for a lower price.

Differentiation:

For children with greater ease when it comes to tracing the hidden words, I'd use the "Find and write" resource, while for the rest, I would opt for the "Find, circle, and trace" resource.

You will find three PDF files with three different font sizes of the hidden words for children with problems seeing words due to their visual ability. Use the one that suits each child or your group best. The two smaller ones will require the use of a magnifying glass, but most will be able to read the larger one without using it.
