For many children, the first thought that comes to mind when winter approaches is “snow day!” The winter can be a time of hibernation as it is cold outside, many extracurricular activities have slowed down, and the days get darker much earlier. There are a total of 36 cards which include a particular behaviour and choice which occur within a school environment. These include within the classroom, at recess, in the corridor, on a bus and in the playground. On each card, the student as asked to reflect on the situation and choose whether it is a helpful or unhelpful choice. The student may require some reflective questioning should they need prompting as to how and why a behaviour may be helpful or unhelpful. These cards are created to facilitate conversation, discussion and insight.

These Feeling Play Dough mats are versatile and perfect for exploring a lot of different feelings and emotions. Each task card includes a blank face which includes a variety of male and female style faces. Students are encouraged to create different facial expressions utilizing play dough to create the facial expressions for each one.

This creative activity encourages children to create their own “self-care” snowman.

You can make as many snowman as you want. Templates are included for different emotions to help students explore their self care when they feel a variety of feelings and reflecting on why they felt that way as well as what they needed to look after themselves and their emotions.

This creative activity includes:

- Learning all about “self-care”

- Instructions

- Completed example

What to do:
