Steps to Washing Hands, Print or Digital Interactive , Cut & Paste, Hygiene

Teach students the steps to washing hands in this digital interactive activity with moveable pieces or you can use this by printing it out as a cut-and-paste activity in the classroom. This product also has a mini poster to hang up the steps to wash hands.
I teach and model for my students to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds. They need to clean both the back and front of their hands. I also model how to dry my hands with a paper towel and use that same towel to turn the water off. This way they keep their hands nice and clean before throwing away the paper towel.

Vocabulary words that are emphasized in this packet include: the nervous system and how it works, brain, spinal cord, and nerves are controlled in the nervous system, nerves, neurons, messages that are sent from your hand to brain very fast, labeling the parts of the brain, control center for the body is the brain and the spinal cord and why, and why your nerves do not wait for a message, it just happens - reflex.
These notes can also be used as adapted notes for students who need more support. This packet includes notes with short answer questions based on what was reviewed in the notes. Students will also answer questions using a key to review vocabulary covered in this lesson as well.

The Berenstain Bears go to the Doctor comprehension questions product is useful for students that read the book. The questions are placed in order with the book. Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students learn about why you go to the doctor when you are healthy and unhealthy different tools the doctor may use when during your visit, different symptoms you may have when you are not feeling well, importance of washing your hands and when you should wash your hands, and how to stay healthy so you don't become sick. Students can answer these short answer questions, yes/no questions, multiple choice questions, and vocabulary/picture labeling questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.

Coping with Anxiety Activities
