Write a story about a friendly snowball fight.
Pretend you are a snowflake falling from the sky. Where would you land?

Write about learning how to ice skate. How does it feel?
Describe what the world looks like on a snowy winter night
Write a story about what happens when a mitten is lost in the snow.
Imagine you are a polar bear. What would your day be like?

In this product, students will review action verbs. When students understand the parts of speech and how to use each word, it helps them to become stronger writers. Students will review what an action word is, are provided with examples with action verbs, a list of action verbs, and different activities where they review action verbs. Students will circle action verbs in each sentence, circle the correct action verb in each sentence, when given two options, write an action verb on each line to complete each sentence, and make up two sentences that include action verbs based on the numerous picture scenarios that have been provided in this product, and students will make up sentences based on numerous actions verbs that are provided in this product.

As students are learning the difference between singular and plural nouns, coming up with sentences using those nouns is our next step. My students love booklets of any kind that they can refer back to. Once they have come up with their sentences, they will include pictures that they print and cut out, draw pictures freehand, or find pictures in a magazine that they can add to each page of the booklet to connect with what they wrote about. This gives students the opportunity to connect what they are learning about in the classroom with their own personal interests. Writing about How to Solve a Problem is an important writing project that gives students the time to write about a problem they had to solve or are currently trying to solve. This product sets the foundation for having students learn about simple and advanced problem solving skills that so many students. Once they are finished with their masterpiece, they can share it with their friends and family members. This packet includes information to share with your students about why we write to solve a problem, what steps to follow when writing to solve a problem - state the problem, ask questions, come up with a list of resources, summarize the actions taken to solve the problem, and a solution which shares the decision that was made to solve the problem. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write to solve a problem. Using this guide, students will write and complete a simple or complex written assignment about how to solve a problem. Writing a play is a perfect project that gives students time to write about an event that happened in their life or an event that they made up. Once they are finished, they can share it with different groups of people and have their friends play each character. This packet includes information to share with your students about what a play is, examples of plays they may see, what steps to follow when writing the beginning, middle and end of a play, and identifying the parts of a play. This packet also includes an example showing the process that is used to write a play using a brainstorming play chart. An example of the play chart and template is also included. As our students are completing written assignments, using quotation marks in dialogue can be confusing. Students need to remember to use a comma before or after a quote, a capital letter when a statement is made by a character, descriptive tags, and quotation marks. Students can get easily confused when learning how to show dialogue between characters when they are having a conversation. In this product, students review why quotation marks are used in dialogue, complete sentences to show dialogue (adding in commas and quotation marks), make corrections to sentences by adding missing commas or quotation marks, make up sentences to show dialogue based on picture scenarios, make up sentences without picture scenarios that include dialogue, and students also have the opportunity to write a short story that include at least 5 communication exchanges between characters that include capitalization, commas, quotation marks, and descriptive tags.

This product includes information to share with your students about what a fairy tale is, why do we write a fairy tale, challenges characters may face in fairy tales, who could be your audience when writing a fairy tale, rules to follow when writing a fairy tale, possible options students can choose to publish their fable, using a strong opening compared to a weak opening in the first paragraph of your fairy tale, tips that are useful to write a great fairy tale, a layout of the fairy tale is provided, an example of a fairy tale is included in this product that includes an idea template, planning the fairy tale with more in depth ideas, and an example of a fairy tale rough draft is included in this product.
After the example is read, students can answer 6 comprehension questions about the fairy tale. Students will are also provided with a template that includes an area for 3 fairy tale ideas, and once they choose their fairy tale, they can add onto their fairy tale using the idea chart. Templates are included after the example along with a rough draft template and reminder checklist so students remember to go back and check their work once it is completed.
