Less than $5 1st Grade Phonics Lesson (by date, oldest first)

This is a lesson that is from my CVC Fluency Lessons Bundle. In this lesson you will have one detailed lesson plan, phonemic awareness, reading CVC words, orthographic mapping of CVC words, a high-frequency word, and scaffolded and regular CVC decodable passage. This is a great introduction to teaching fluency while still working on the important skills students need to become fluent readers! This resource is no prep and easy to use!

I am giving away one of the lessons from my Beginning Reader Phonics lessons! I used 95% Phonics, Wilson Fundations, and the Science of Reading to create these beginner reader lessons! This first lesson works on segmenting and blending CVC words with vowel a.

This packet has activities and visuals to support practice with demonstrating understanding of why we use -ge or a -dge ending.

• Students will sort words/pictures with the -ge/-dge ending
• Students can practice writing / or selecting the appropriate word ending.
• A visual is provided to discuss & sort the rules.
• Students will highlight, read and then write sentences using the words they have learned. For more practice have students read their sentences to one another!
• Students will also read a story, at the end they will finish it!

Word Ending Digraphs - ge/-dge

This isn't an ordinary CVC word list. This list organizes these CVC words into two groups. Words that begin with continuous sounds and words that begin with stop sounds.

You will want to use words with continuous sounds to support beginning and struggling readers.
