Summer themed Color by CVC Word puzzles covering short a, e, i, o, and u word families. Each color by word puzzle features 4 to 5 CVC words for a vowel family in two difficulty levels for 10 puzzles total. I've included both a picture clue set and a word clue set. In the picture clue set, students look at the picture of the word and then find the corresponding word to color. In the word clue set, students have the CVC word to look at and find the matching word to color in the puzzle. No prep! Just print and go.

Practice number recognition and number word recognition with this summer themed game designed for learning about numbers 1-100. The object of the game is to find the sun hidden behind one of the clouds buy using your number knowledge to pick your guesses. Designed for the pocket chart, Where's the Sun? is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a sun is hidden behind a cloud. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the number or number word they think the sun is behind. Once guessed, the number is removed. If the sun is behind the cloud, then the sun must be hidden again to play further. If the sun is not behind the cloud, then the poem is chanted again and a new letter is guessed. This game has numbers 1-100 and number words 1-20 as well as 30, 40, 50... all the way to 100.

These phonics clip cards for beginning sounds are great for a summer themed literacy center. Each clip card features a real life photographic image of something summer themed with three choices for students to choose from to pick the correct beginning sound, blend or diagraph.

How to Play:

Where's the Sun is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a sun is hidden behind a cloud. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the sight word they think the sun is behind. Once guessed, the sight word is removed. If the sun is behind the cloud, then the sun must be hidden again to play further. If the sun is not behind the cloud, then the poem is chanted again with a new sight word.

Where is the sun? This summer sight word game is great for students who are practicing sight word recognition and beginning reading skills. This game can be used in a pocket chart or on a table top for an early education classroom.
