Summer themed Color by CVC Word puzzles covering short a, e, i, o, and u word families. Each color by word puzzle features 4 to 5 CVC words for a vowel family in two difficulty levels for 10 puzzles total. I've included both a picture clue set and a word clue set. In the picture clue set, students look at the picture of the word and then find the corresponding word to color. In the word clue set, students have the CVC word to look at and find the matching word to color in the puzzle. No prep! Just print and go.

Laminate the picture only cards and have students create the CVC word with dry erase markers or letter manipulatives.

Print and laminate the pages. Cut apart to create the picture cards and print copies of the recording sheets for your learners.
Learners will place the picture cards onto the sentence mat based on the color coding of the cards. Learners will match the 3 parts based on Who? What? and Where? to create a summer themed sentence. The packet is rich with summer vocabulary making this a fun learning experience for your learners.

How to use Hands-On Summer Activities for Kindergarten:
The center activities are best used when printed on cardstock and/or laminated. You can choose to implement these centers in an independent way or use them with small-groups. The printables can be used to strengthen students’ fine motor skills and are perfect for exploration during morning work. Summer Number Recognition Center or Whole Group Game

Practice number recognition and number word recognition with this summer themed game designed for learning about numbers 1-100. The object of the game is to find the sun hidden behind one of the clouds buy using your number knowledge to pick your guesses. Designed for the pocket chart, Where's the Sun? is a game for centers or whole group instruction where a sun is hidden behind a cloud. A poem is chanted where the student(s) must say the number or number word they think the sun is behind. Once guessed, the number is removed. If the sun is behind the cloud, then the sun must be hidden again to play further. If the sun is not behind the cloud, then the poem is chanted again and a new letter is guessed. This game has numbers 1-100 and number words 1-20 as well as 30, 40, 50... all the way to 100.
