Winter Would You Rather Activity Slides

By Rebekah Poe Teaching

Looking for a way to have fun in your classroom this winter? These "Would You Rather" slides are perfect to add to your class party or as a time-filler at the end of class!

What's Included?

  • 10 Winter-themed "Would You Rather" questions
  • Instructional Activities Sheet to provide ideas for extension and assignments

Why do you need this?

This is such a simple activity that can be utilized in so many ways!

  • Have your students write a paragraph about why they chose what they did.
  • Have your students move from one side of the room to another when making their selection to incorporate a sensory/movement break into your day.
  • Have your students find a new friend who picked the same thing they did, or pick a partner who didn't pick what they did and have them discuss why they chose their answers.
  • Have your students debate over why one choice is better than another; make sure they defend their answers (and keep it friendly).

How can I help?

Reach out to me on Instagram at www.instagram.com/rebekahpoeteaching or email me at lessonsandlattes2018@gmail.com. I'd love to answer any questions you may have.

Functional Literacy Sight Word Writing & coloring for Special Education & K - 2

By Exceptional Education CA

This Match-Select-Name writing unit contains fluency support activities directly linked to the Match-Select-Name basketball reading unit. The Match-Select-Name method was presented by L. Oelwein. There has been a significant amount of research done on the efficacy of this method. It is shown to be beneficial for students with exceptionalities including Down’s Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder who are struggling to learn to read using phonics.

There are four stages in the method:

1 - Acquisition (Matching, Selecting, Naming)

2 - Fluency (Practice and Review)

3 - Transfer (Use of new fonts and coloured paper)

4 - Generalization (Ability to read the words in any context/format)

Literacy Skill Development for Students with Special Learning Needs, p. 51. Broun, L.

The resources included in this unit support the fluency stage for the 24 words in the set. The sight words in this set are from the Pre-primer and Primer Dolch word lists. You will find a writing sheet for each word, a colouring sheet for each word, and a board game using all 24 words.

Thank you again for downloading this product, I value your feedback so please feel free to leave a review!
