Stem-Changing Verbs Present Tense Conjugation Dice Activities

By Senorita Creativa

Get your students practicing the conjugations of stem-changing verbs in the present tense in Spanish with this fun, low-prep dice activity! Although this resource is aimed at practicing the present tense, it could be used at all levels simply by instructing students to use a different tense! All you need is copies of the game sheet and one or two dice for each group.

This activity can be done individually, in pairs, or in small groups and it's a great way to fill a few extra minutes when your lesson ends early or on days with irregular schedules (like standardized test days, pep rallies, early releases, etc). This is also a great learning station activity. My students love playing the dice game and I'm sure yours will too!

This bundled resource includes 2 versions of each activity, each with 6 different stem-changing verbs. Each of the three resources included in this bundle include:

  • Version 1 (page 4) with six subjects, six verbs, and twelve lines for writing out sentences.
  • Version 2 (page 5) with the same six subjects and six verbs as version one without space to write. This version is great to print on colored cardstock and laminate for the future. Two copies of the activity are on each page in version 2.

The verbs practiced are:

pedir, repetir, servir, medir, corregir, elegir, empezar, entender, querer, preferir, cerrar, mentir, dormir, volver, almorzar, poder, mover, and contar.

Spanish Board Game Set - formal commands

By Senorita Creativa

This is a fun review game to play with your Spanish students. I designed this game using formal commands. This game can be played in centers, or you can print enough for the whole class to play in groups. The game includes:

  • 48 cards
  • two options for the game board
  • an answer key.

Directions:

  1. Determine who will play first.
  2. The first player draws a card and must conjugate the verb in parentheses. If the conjugation is correct, the player spins and moves the indicated number of spaces. If it is incorrect, the player does not move.
  3. The next player draws a card, and play continues.
  4. If the player lands on “pierda su turno”, they lose their next turn.
  5. If the player lands on “turno extra”, they get an extra turn.
  6. Play continues until the first player reaches “el fin”.

For an easier way to hold your students accountable for their work, download my free answer sheet for board games.

Interpretive Reading | HEALTH | Dejar los Refrescos

By Senorita Creativa

Do you struggle to incorporate real-world, authentic reading in your Spanish classroom? This amazing interpretive reading activity about what happens to your body when you stop drinking soft drinks will get your kids reading and analyzing an authentic resource from the Spanish-speaking world. To make this resource even better, it now includes versions compatible with Google Classroom™, perfect for make-up work!

In this activity, your students will:

  • identify vocabulary related to health
  • determine the main idea
  • identify supporting details
  • guess the meaning of words based on the context
  • answer comprehension questions
  • make inferences about the text
  • write a personal reaction to the infographic

This reading and writing activity makes a great addition to any health and wellness or food and nutrition unit, from Spanish 2 through AP (as an introduction to the unit). It also makes a great pre-reading activity for an article about soft drinks (there are three suggested articles in the product).

There are five versions of the resource included in a zipped file:

  1. version 1 is a printable PDF with all directions and questions in English
  2. version 2 is a printable PDF with all directions and questions in Spanish.
  3. versions 3 and 4 are editable Google Forms™, one with all directions and questions in English, the other in Spanish.
  4. version 5 is a non-editable Google Slides™ resource, formatted just like the printable PDF versions, with added text boxes so that students can type their answers on the slide (while in edit mode) before submitting

PLEASE NOTE: the infographic is NOT included with this product due to copyright laws and you must access it at the following link: infographic. I would recommend printing and laminating the infographic, projecting it on your board, or posting it to Google Classroom, Edmodo, or Schoology for students to access it. Each handout includes the link to the image at the top as well as a QR code to the image at the bottom.

Ser and Estar Spanish Sorting Activity and Worksheets

By Senorita Creativa

Do your students struggle to grasp the differences between ser and estar? These sentence sorting activities are the perfect way to reinforce ser y estar. With these no-prep activities, you only need enough copies for your students (along with scissors and glue) for an awesome, hands-on lesson

Here's what you'll get:

✅ one printable sentence sorting sheet

✅ one page of twenty English sentences with dotted lines for cutting

✅ one printable worksheet where students choose between ser and estar and explain why the chosen verb is correct

✅ one printable worksheet where students choose between ser and estar and translate the sentences to Spanish

✅ 4 Google Slides™️ (digital versions of the sorting activity and worksheets)

✅ answer keys for all included activities

✅ tips for using the resource and a table of contents

This activity is perfect to use in your Spanish 1 class both individually and in small groups. It is a great introduction to ser y estar (by using inductive reasoning), application, or review.

Do your Spanish 2 or 3 students need a review of ser vs estar? This resource makes for an engaging review, and the differentiated worksheets and Google Slides™️ allow you to choose the pieces of the resource that will best fit the needs of your students.

The best part? You just need to make copies and provide your students with scissors and glue. Don't have scissors? No problem! Just have your students write the sentences in the correct boxes. How easy is that?

TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Maria L. says, "I loved this resource, students usually have a hard time with ser and estar but this made it so much easier."
