This is a perfect activity for group problem solving and critical thinking!

Act Graphic Novel Comprehension Questions
By Sign with me TOD
The graphic novel, Act by Kayla Miller is great for children ages 8 - 14, as they can relate with the characters. My students enjoyed this book because it is a book about friendship, being mature, supporting your friends, being a good sport, leader, etc., and solving problems with friends and in life. This book does not have chapters, so comprehension questions were separated by pages. Therefore, written comprehension skills are emphasized while reading. At the end of this product, there are a variety of short answer writing prompts to choose from.
The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and a few example sentences are presented in the packet. As the book is being read aloud, as students are reading the book or after the book has been read, students can answer the comprehension questions in this packet.

Printable PDF and Google Drive versions are included, as well as a printable Reflection sheet that will allow them to reflect on the ideas presented.
A Chalk Talk is a way to have a silent discussion about a question. Completed before reading, this engaging Chalk Talk will stimulate students' interest in a topic and set a purpose for reading.

The included Teacher's Guide includes access to the link that will allow you to make your own copy of the resource for use in Google Classroom/Google Drive.
IDEAS FOR USING THIS RESOURCE:
Collaborative Online Pre-Reading Activity: Divide students among six groups and have them rotate through the six pre-reading Chalk Talk questions, reflecting on a different aspect of the text at each station.
