Christmas Around the World - Reading Comprehension Scavenger Hunt - ESL B1 - B2
By Miss Clever Cookie
Looking for a Christmas-themed, engaging and informative reading comprehension activity? This scavenger hunt is designed to help students practice skim reading, looking for context clues, and learn some useful vocabulary.
It’s perfect for EFL / ESL students at the B1/B2 level and can also be used for native English classes at grade levels 5 - 7. With low prep, just print and hang, it contains 10 reading passages about Christmas traditions around the world.
The scavenger hunt is designed so that students have to revisit and reread the reading passages multiple times when looking for code words. The answer to each question is located on a different reading passage card. Once students have answered all the questions, they unscramble the letters to reveal the final answer - the name of the murderer.

Noël - French Christmas SI CLAUSE Task Cards
By Love Learning Languages - French Resources
When the holidays come around there's nothing else on everyone's mind, but it's a great time to incorporate French Christmas vocabulary into using SI CLAUSES! This is a set of 20 SI CLAUSE task cards that can be used at any level since you can have your students create 1st, 2nd or 3rd conditional SI CLAUSES. Check out all of my Christmas resources for the French classroom here.
As you see in the previews above, the infinitives to be used on each task card are in infinitive form. You can either instruct students to use a particular type of SI CLAUSE or you can just leave them to use their imagination.
The first part of the SI CLAUSE is provided to inspire creativity on the second part. French Christmas vocabulary is used in this set of task cards and images are provided in case some of the vocabulary is new.
There are 20 task cards to print out, cut and laminate for use year after year. In the upper left corner of each card there is a place to guide you in punching holes so that you can use a ring to hold the cards together.
There are also 20 answer cards provided to include in the stack. They are numbered like the task cards. Given the creative nature of these task cards a whole answer cannot be provided. However, I have written what the first part of the SI CLAUSE should be for 1st, 2nd and 3rd conditional clauses.
Included with this product:
20 French Christmas SI CLAUSE task cards in black and white (20 answer cards included)
20 French Christmas SI CLAUSE task cards in color (20 answer cards included)
Numbered student response sheet (in case you want students to write their answers)

Christmas Journal Prompt Task Cards
By Language Arts Excellence
This product features a set of 24 thoughtful writing prompts for middle and high school students during the Christmas season. Each question is carefully crafted to encourage deep thinking and personal reflection. Prompts, each on individual task cards, can be given at the start of class, end of class, for homework, as part of a stations writing or discussion activity, or even as part of an emergency substitute plan. I personally like to begin each class during the month of December with a prompt to really get students in the spirit of Christmas. The possibilities for use are endless during a time of year when every second you can get to be hands-off is precious and your students will appreciate the time to reflect on this very special holiday. I suggest laminating so that you can use them year after year. ____________________________________________________________________________ Also, check out these great Christmas and winter-themed resources by Language Arts Excellence: ⭐ 'Twas the Night Before Christmas Figurative Language Lesson Plan
