INSTRUCTIONS:

Kaboom! Game

• print out and cut up the numbered sentence cards and Kaboom! cards, laminate (optional)
• put them in a receptacle of your choice
• decide on how long you want to spend on this activity and set a timer
• pupils take turns pulling out a card and finishing the sentence - they need to select the correct option or make a sentence using cues
• if they say it right, they get to keep the card
• if they get it wrong, they put it back
• the next pupil takes a turn
• if they pull out a Kaboom! card, they put all their cards back, feel free to use as many (or as few) Kaboom! card as you wish
• pupil with the most cards at the end wins

Scoot Game

• use the numbered sentence cards, each student gets a recording sheet
• place one card on each student's desk. If you have fewer students than cards, feel free to not use the whole deck.
• plan a route, make sure your students understand which way they are supposed to move
• start the game by having each pupil write the answer to their card on their answer sheet
• when students are finished, call out "SCOOT" and they move to their neighbour's desk where they write the answer to the card on that desk
• call out "SCOOT" again, students move again, continue until students have answered all the cards
• answer sheets can be corrected with the whole group, in pairs or collected for a later correction

Playing TABOO is a great way to get students to speak English and learn a lot of new FALL - AUTUMN vocabulary. This game is simple to modify and use with beginners and advanced students alike. 32 game cards are included There are 2 fun ways to play this fun vocabulary game and both are explained in the instructions. This game is great fun, suitable for any English speaking classroom, and 4th - 12th grade will enjoy playing it.

This Autumn Taboo speaking game includes the following:

➤ How to play classic Taboo (beginner and advanced levels)

➤ 32 Taboo game cards to print, laminate, cut out and hook together with a ring

In the upper left corner there's a spot for you to punch holes in the cards so that you can then attach them with a ring for no prep use every time. Be sure to laminate if possible.

Object of the game:

One player tries to get his teammate to guess the word at the top of a card. The player must give clues, but he can't use any of the Taboo words in his description. The taboo words are written beneath the word at the top of the card. Teams score points for each word successfully guessed. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Beginner students should be allowed to use the TABOO words printed on the cards. This will encourage them to use new vocabulary and will help them in forming sentences to use as clues.

Looking for an engaging way to get your ESL students to build their communication skills and vocabulary? Taboo is a fun speaking and listening game where one student has to guess a word based on clues given by other students. The catch is that they cannot mention anything that is included in a list of taboo words.

You can easily modify this game to play it with all levels!  You are going to love hearing your students speaking in English to each other about all kinds of vocabulary words in this classic version that has no particular theme.

Object of the game:

There are many ways you can use this set of 75 speaking cards:

➤ Print, laminate, cut out, punch holes and attach on a ring for small groups to ask and answer questions.

➤ Use as a warm-up speaking activity with a conversation partner. As students enter the classroom have them choose 2-3 cards from a box.

➤ Students who finish their work earlier than others can choose a few of the cards and write out their answers including reasons for their preferences.

➤ Use as exit tickets. Give each student a card before the end of class and as they walk out of the room they tell the teacher their answer.

➤ Stations: Put students into groups and divide the cards amongst them. Have groups rotate to a new station as they finish the cards.

➤ Scoot: Put one card on each desk in the classroom. Give each student a response sheet and set a timer to give them just enough time to answer the question. When the timer rings students move on to the next desk and the next question.

Want your students to use their MOVIES vocabulary in fun and meaningful conversations? You can use this NO PREP activity year after year as a fun way to encourage your students to speak more to each other about going to the movies and films in general. This resource is suitable for any curriculum in which English is the language spoken, and will work best for students in 6th to 12th grade.

You can use these cards after learning specific vocabulary About movies during the or as a fun interactive activity on a day when you want to just focus on speaking and reviewing vocabulary in a different way.

All cards are visually stimulating and feature a circle to punch out in the upper left corner so that you can print, laminate, cut out, punch holes and hook the cards together with a ring. Using these cards this way makes it easy to pull them out year after year to use as NO PREP speaking activities. A pdf with only one card per page is included for easy projection when you don't want to print.
