Make learning about French culture and history interesting with this no-prep digital escape game bundle.  The games include access to a website where your students will hunt for the keys to unlock a set of locks.  Students will need to read the clues very carefully and watch videos, visit websites, and read texts to find the information they need to win the game.  Very easy to use - just send your students to the website and let them work!  Students can play individually or in teams.

Digital escape games are a fun way to start a unit, or to review at the end of a unit.  They can also be used to learn about a cultural or historical event.  This game will have your students reading carefully and paying attention to the smallest details in order to complete the challenge and unlock the locks.

Your students will enjoy learning without even realizing that they are learning!  The challenging game format will get them excited about finding the code to unlock each lock - and the format of the clues for each lock will have them paying close attention - there's no way to solve the puzzles without being 100% focused! 

Prep is very easy - you just need to share the website URL with your students.  You may want to test the site before you use it, just to make sure nothing is blocked by your district.  As some of the clues can be challenging to unlock, you may choose to help your students with the trickier ones.  With the teacher guide, you will have the answer key - so you can help guide students towards the correct answer by giving them hints, or if you have limited time, you can adjust the game by reducing the number of locks they need to unlock - just give them the answer(s) to help the activity fit your time constraints.

Do your Spanish students struggle in interpersonal speaking and conversations?  Have you tried Integrated Listening and Speaking activities with your Spanish students?  Use these IPA activities to get students listening and responding- just like in tests like AAPPL for the Seal of Biliteracy!  Integrated Performance Assessments mimic real-world interactions, and these activities are great practice for communication!

This resources includes two versions of each story:

• Version A has the verbs already conjugated, and the students must choose between the preterite and imperfect tenses of the verb.
• Version A also includes true/false comprehension questions in the past tense and students must correct the false statements.
• Version B includes only the infinitive, so they must first decide which tense to use (preterite or imperfect) and then fill in the blank with the correct form of the verb.
• Version B also includes comprehension questions to be answered in complete sentences in Spanish in the past tense.

Each version of the story with questions is between two and three pages long. The two different versions of every story make differentiation simple!

Vacaciones en España focuses on a trip to the beach town of Benidorm, on the West Coast of Spain.  This Google Slides presentation contains vibrant photos of real people, which makes it engaging for students.  Each slide comes with text to explain what they’re seeing. Each slide contains text taking students through Ávila’s past (its incredible walls, towers and cathedral) and present-day life with some views of the city!  The text is mainly written in both present and past (preterite and imperfect) and therefore is great for Years 2, 3 and 4. It comes in a Spanish and English version, and students must follow the clues to help solve a crime.  The clues take them all around Spain where they will learn about various aspects of the culture.  Each clue they solve reveals the next clue!
