Less than $5 2nd Grade Science Lesson (by price, high to low)

This Lesson Plan or Scope and Sequence was created for special education or life skills classes. Each lesson has three levels that are vertically aligned to provide access for ALL students to the standards, the leveled activities are for guided or independent practice. The units are set up in two-week increments and include two whole group lessons with links to videos or songs that align with the unit of study. This product focuses on the following areas: the parts of the ear - outer ear, ear canal, eardrum, cochlea, auditory nerve - vocabulary review and short answer questions, what each part of the ear does, labeling the parts of the ear on a diagram, who to see for a hearing test - audiologist, reviewing the decibel scale - dB, comparing faint noises to extremely loud noises, how to protect your ears, vocabulary for hearing aids and cochlear implants, if you know someone who has hearing loss, they will speak loudly, may mispronounce words, etc., what amplification devices people with hearing loss may have, some people with hearing loss may not use any amplification and they may use sign language instead, labeling different amplification equipment, inhalants - how they are dangerous and that they can cause hearing loss along with other health issues, two situations that relate with hearing loss and what students would do to handle hearing loss.

• This resource was made to address the NGSS 2-PS1-3. This deals with reversible and irreversible changes of matter. While this is a second-grade standard, it is appropriate for any grade addressing physical and chemical changes in matter.
• There are posters defining the terms as well as examples. Picture cards showing changes are included. The students must decide what type of change is occurring. There is a suggested YouTube and a recording sheet on which students can show their understanding of the topic.

The Berenstain Bears Don't Pollute Anymore Comprehension Questions product is useful for students that read the book. The questions are placed in order with the book. Students can answer these questions as the book is read or after they have finished reading the book or listening to the book. While reading this book and answering these questions, students will learn about pollution, endangered animals, surviving in our environment, importance of clean air, water, and healthy soil to grow food, planting trees when trees are cut down, ecology, conservation, recycling, reducing pollution in your community, things to recycle, and how to help your environment. In this packet, students can also complete a mini endangered animal report where they will be required to chose an endangered animal from the list provided and answer questions about that animal, such as where it lives (habitat), what it eats, how long it lives for, interesting facts about that animal, etc. Students can answer the short answer questions, yes/no questions, multiple choice questions, and vocabulary/picture labeling questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished. Vocabulary words, their meanings, and examples of the words used in sentences are presented. Students have the opportunity to use those words in sentences as well.

Where magma volcanoes form, how pieces of the Earth's surface move slowly, what is the lithosphere and where it is located, where tectonic plates are located in the structure of the Earth, tectonic plates and the three boundaries and how they are different from one another - divergent, transform, and convergent boundaries, students will also learn about Mount St. Helens eruption on May 18th, 1980, students will also learn safety tips and how to prepare for a volcanic eruption, students will analyze two charts: how volcanoes are measured using the Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) and some volcanic eruptions in the 21st century, and students will choose a volcano to research and will answer questions after conducting research about a volcano in the packet provided at the end of the product.

Throughout the product, students will answer comprehension questions, true/false questions, multiple choice questions, will label diagrams to ensure comprehension as they are learning about volcanoes.

Our TCI science second grade supplemental lesson guides will assist in organizing your materials so you can feel successful teaching the second grade science standards.

Are you having trouble incorporating the TCI textbook, online slide deck, and student workbook into one nicely flowing lesson? I was struggling with this same dilemma in my classroom. I decided to get to work and add all of the materials together into a lesson guide that includes all of the important parts including page numbers for the textbook and workbook as well as slide names for the slide deck. I print these lesson guides front to back and put them in sheet protectors in a science binder. When I teach a lesson, I remove the sheet protector and have the entire resource in hand to feel confident that I'm asking students to be in the right place. This was a game changer for my classroom as I didn't dread teaching science anymore.
