Read each page with your students. They will select the correct interactive card from a choice of 8 to demonstrate understanding of the sentence. Each page has simple and repetitive sentences: "Hedgie has a yellow flower". or "Hedgie has an umbrella".

They provide frequent interactions and a unique opportunity to engage in targeted skills. I have created several that give the students additional visual icons to move after each page is read. The books are short, with only eight interactive pages, and my experience has been that students of various skill levels enjoy them. Book Companion - Tracks in the Snow

This book companion can be used multiple days to reinforce comprehension and story elements. Students will develop understanding of vocabulary. Differentiate by utilizing visual supports for verbal questions. Students will sequence the events of the story, (beginning, middle, and end), demonstrate an understanding of the story framework (2 levels), and extend their understanding through personal connections with writing activities (3 levels).

Adaptive Books with a chores theme review ways we can help at home. Talk about helping with the laundry, washing tables, and cleaning the floor. These books require some prep work; however, once made, you can use them year after year!
Book 1: Laundry Time
Students will listen to a short story about doing the laundry. Use the story to work on laundry together. Send a copy home with your students so they can help out at home too!
Book 2: I Can Do Chores
Students will listen to a story about doing different chores. Children can work with the story to wash tables or floors.

Thanksgiving Adapted Books (Thankful, Parade & Yummy Food) for Special Education

Three adaptive books with a Thanksgiving theme! Read to your students with these interactive books about the Thanksgiving Day Parade, yummy Thanksgiving food & things we can be thankful for. These books require some prep work; however, once made, you can use them year after year!
Book 1: Thanksgiving Day Parade
Students will listen to a short story about parade. The book has colorful pictures (but easy on that printer!) showing students what they can expect to see. They will see a big city, news reporters, big balloons, floats, bands & end the parade with you know who...Santa!
Book 2: Yummy Food
This story uses a repetitive text ("I like") and identifies the food. Traditional Thanksgiving foods are included: pumpkin pie, stuffing, apple pie, turkey, cranberry jelly, mashed potatoes, & dinner rolls
Book 3: I am Thankful
A variety of activities are represented in this book. What might you be thankful for? Pets, teachers, family, favorite foods, games, homes and birthdays.

The "Digraph - Beginning/Ending (sh, ch, th, ck, wh) Printables & Activities" resource is designed to provide students with extra practice on recognizing and using digraphs at the beginning and end of words. Digraphs are two letters that make a single sound, and in this case, the digraphs included are "sh", "ch", "th", "ck", and "wh".
The resource includes printables and activities that students can complete to reinforce their understanding of these digraphs. These print and go activities include coloring, identification, and sorting exercises that allow students to practice recognizing the digraphs and identifying them in different words.
In addition, the resource also includes boom cards, which are digital task cards that can be accessed on any device with an internet connection. These boom cards provide an interactive way for students to engage with the material and practice their skills in a fun and engaging way.
Task cards that can be printed and laminated for use in daily stations are also included in this resource. These task cards provide another hands-on way for students to practice identifying and using digraphs.

Introduction to Wordle! (3,4 & 5 letter words)

Introduction to Wordle! This is a print and go activity with multiple levels as students develop skills. The playing mats can be reprinted and used again and again as so many different words can be created.
Begin with 3 letter words -
Level 1 - Students can use the alphabet to guess letters in your chosen word. You will mark (red, yellow or green) once students have guessed.
Level 2: Students will use a letter bank (10 letters) to make CVC words. You will again mark the students guesses.
Wordle mats with 4 letter words -
Level 1 - Students can use the alphabet to guess letters in your chosen word. You will mark (red, yellow or green) once students have guessed. (These are great for digraph, or consonant blend practice!)
Level 2: Students will use a letter bank (12 letters) to make 4 letter words. You will again mark the students guesses.
