A fun, engaging way to introduce the " Equal parts & Unequal parts " lesson on Fractions using winter-themed activities. The concept of "equal parts" can be critical as fractions can only be used to represent shapes that are divided into equal parts. In these worksheets, students will identify shapes that are divided into equal parts as well as learn new vocabularies such as fourths and halves.

This resource is great for homework, activity, full-class instruction, early finishers, and more!

These worksheets were designed for first grade (Cute penguins are included as Visual Aids ), but can be used with 2nd/3rd-grade students who need additional fraction review.

There are 7 pages to work on:

• Pages 3 & 4: Identify the snowballs (circles) that have been split into two equal parts.
• Page 5: Identify the triangles that have been split into two equal parts.

• Page 9: Sort halves and fourths. this will help students be able to use the vocabulary "half of" and "fourth of".

This is a coloring activity where students will classify polygons (Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Pentagons, Hexagons) and then color each polygon according to its name. There are two differentiated activities to use. One is a collection of mixed polygons and the other sheet has intersecting lines randomly.
