The book, Franklin's Neighborhood, discusses Franklin learning about his neighborhood and community, talking/communicating with your friends, what we see in our community, etc. The comprehension questions in this product relate with the text as well as students own experiences. Arthur's Off to School is a great book for students to read to discuss a morning routine, to discuss similarities and differences between friends, being responsible, being a good friend, brother, and sister, etc. Students are presented with a variety of comprehension questions based on what happens in the book, Arthur's Off to School. Students can answer these questions as the book is read to them, as they read the book independently or they can use the text for lookbacks once the book is finished.

These storyboard activities are awesome for introducing basic story elements and summarizing. This unit covers three popular fables: The Tortoise and the Hare, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, and The Lion and the Mouse. There are places to list characters, beginning, middle and ending, definition of a fable and the lesson or moral taught through the fable. I use colorful file folders for the storyboards, but large manila paper is a smart economical choice.
