I personally use this visual schedule with Grade 1 and Grade 2 students in French Immersion. Core French teachers will be sure to add the resource to their repertoire for Grades 4 to 6 as they learn to communicate at the Junior level.

This item is used daily in my classroom and students love helping me change the cards each day. The students love this visual schedule and is a great tool for your teacher toolkit. I can’t wait to hear how you have decided to use this resource in your classroom!

This product can be used with students as an informal/formal adapted assessment. Students will be required to identify the pre-primer, primer, 1st grade,2nd grade, and/or 3rd grade Dolch sight words. If students begin at the pre-primer level and are able to identify a specific amount of each section of sight words, they are going to be ranked as independent, instructional, or frustration when identifying those sight words. Students are then provided with a sentence or brief comprehension passage for each Dolch sight word list. The questions and short passages have been adapted and shortened compared to other reading assessments so baseline data can be collected, especially with those students are struggling. This will help gauge where students need the most support in terms of identifying sight words, reading simple sentences/passages, and answering comprehension questions that relate with what is read.

Do your students struggle with writing sentences? Teach students how to write complete sentences in a fun and meaningful way. This All-Inclusive Spring Sentence Scramble Set has students cut/paste scrambled words into a complete sentence. Capitalization and punctuation are included. Pictures / Sight Words provide clues to the sentence. There is also a space for the students to practice writing the complete sentence. Adaptive Books with a back to school theme cover fun topics such as going back to school, what do you do in school and jobs we do at school. I have also included cards & editable name tags to use for job assignments. These books require some prep work; however, once made, you can use them year after year!  

Book 1: Back to school

Students will listen to a short story going back to school & what we can expect during the school day. Expected behaviors are also introduced such as stay with the class, walk in the hallway & follow my teacher directions. This story is colorful.  

Book 2: What do you do at school?

Students will listen to a story talking about different areas at school & expected behaviors. Areas include: hallway, arrival, art, classroom, PE, cafeteria & recess.

Book 3: Jobs in my classroom

This book identifies 8 jobs to be completed in the classroom. These jobs include:

• tech support - taking care of computers by plugging in
• botanist - watering class plants
• paper passer - helping teacher pass out and collect papers
• chairs - putting chairs up at end of day / returning to specific areas
• sweeper - sweeping the floor
• pencil sharpener - sharpening dull pencils / throwing out short or broken ones
• cleaner - wiping down tables & door handles
• messenger - taking notes to other teachers or office

*book 3 also comes with cards you can post to your bulletin board. These cards contain short descriptions as well. Assign jobs to students by attaching editable student names to each task.

This 12 page THANKSGIVING social story is a great way to help ease the transition for many students as they go into the holiday season. With engaging clipart and simple sentences, students can learn about what to expect on Thanksgiving Day.
