How can you use these task cards?

⭐Have the task cards available in makerspaces, centers, tubs, busy boxes, morning baskets, as a reward, or available for early finishers to complete using ANY available materials. Students can even draw their creations instead of building them!

⭐Use one card or slide a day during morning time. Have students fill out a STEAM / STEM worksheet or slide, and discuss as a class.

⭐Use them for public speaking practice. Allow students to build and then show and tell with the class or their parents. They can discuss what they made, liked, what they would improve, and how it solved the problem on the task cards. They can practice speaking and listening skills, using loud and clear voices, and giving full attention to the speaker. Encourage students to ask questions to their classmates.

⭐Ideally the goal is to do one challenge a day, but you could certainly allow students to do more than one!

This Back-to-School Receptive and Labeling Task Card Set is an engaging and educational resource designed to enhance receptive language skills and vocabulary development, all within a fun and exciting back-to-school theme. This task card set provides valuable opportunities for students to practice receptive language tasks and expand their vocabulary knowledge.

Learning patterns is important. It doesn’t look useful or significant but when you realize that patterns exists everywhere you’d know how important it is. This fun pattern center (Train as a visual aid) is perfect for students who have begun learning about patterns and may need some encouragement or to practice patterns independently. This is a very basic but great worksheet that focuses on Unifix cube patterns.

Nb: When printed these worksheet on 8.5"x11" paper it matched 10 Unifix cubes stacked (Each square is approximately 18mmx18mm, 0.71 "x 0.71").

How to use this resource:

1. Ask students to make their own patterns with Unifix blocks and then coloring these cubes to match.
2. Show specific patterns : AB, ABB, AAB, AABB, ABC... and ask kids to copy, extend, and create each, then color the results.

How can you use these task cards?

• Have the task cards available in makerspaces, centers, tubs, busy boxes, morning baskets, or available for early finishers to complete using ANY available materials. Students can even draw their creations instead of building them!

• Use one card a day during morning time. Have students fill out a STEAM / STEM worksheet or discuss and use the Google Slides as a class.

• Use them for public speaking practice. Allow students to build and then show and tell with the class or their parents. They can discuss what they made, liked, what they would improve, and how it solved the problem on the task cards. They can practice speaking and listening skills, using loud and clear voices, and giving full attention to the speaker. Encourage students to ask questions to their classmates.

• Ideally the goal is to do one challenge a day, but you could certainly allow students to do more than one.

Why do I think you will love this product, and what makes my challenge set unique?

I love silly stories that bring humor and adventure to life for kids, but also that force them to use their imaginations in fun and exciting ways. This challenge task set does exactly that through the loose wacky stories where they are the main character. Silly scenarios, adventure and disaster, problem solving, and learning, are all part of the experience when building these challenges.

Most building challenge task cards are independent from each other. “Build a boat,” or “build an airplane,” are common themes among the cards. While those are fantastic, and we have done many of them ourselves, I wanted to do something different and more cohesive and engaging for kids.

The only rule is to HAVE FUN and allow those imaginations to soar!
